Daylight Savings Time included in Preferences

Okay, so my board reading, here, says all times are UTC - 6 hours: Central Standard Time. Great. Well it's one hour off, and it seems to be correlating to no daylight savings time factor. Is there a way to turn this option on/off, or do I just have to grit my teeth and make the long, laborous journey to the user control panel (after beating off the giant racoons and answering the spynx's riddle, of course) and initiate the setting of Eastern Time?

Just choose the actual timezone you are in and then choose "DST is in effect" and it should correct it.
