Just a suggestion.


Why not adding a quick reply box?



It would help to post quickly and browse even quicker.




My opinion only tho.

I don't think we need one. I think we're fine with the posting we have.

Also, when you quote someone, you're immediately taken to the "reply box". So, that makes a quick reply less useful, because any time you quote someone, you'll bypass the quick reply and go to the reply we have.

We could still use normal posting for long posts and whatnot.


For quick, short replies, a quick reply box would help.




It just adds options, it doesn't take away any.




And when quoting, you go to the normal box, so...yeah.

I don't think it will be added. Although it does open up a new option, it's not really needed. Also, the forums' webmaster, Daveh, is usually busy with the main site. So, unless something really needs to be changed/added, I doubt he'll do it.

Just a question about the forums: how many people you get active per day or something?

I don't think features like that can be added at whim.

I'm not sure how many people visit the forums per day. I rarely see more than 20 members online at once. I'd say usually no more than 10 people will be on at once.

I think that in the Admin CP, there are things like 'quick reply box? yes or no.'



Things like options.

I'm certain Daveh wouldn't bother adding something we don't really need. Besides, I don't think a quick-reply box is an option on this version of phpbb. And no, we're not upgrading to phpbb v.3.

I understand you are a mod and all, codex, but a little warmer welcome wouln't hurt anyone.

Quoting does roughly the same thing, save that you must remove the quoted text if you don't wish to make a reply to anyone specific.

We could use some sort of quote system where you can just click the quote button for multiple posts and then reply to have all the quotes added to your post. I've seen it on several other boards but I'm not sure if it can be done here.
