We were recently contacted by the publisher of the upcoming The Elder Scrolls: The Official Cookbook (wiki page about the book and what we know so far can be found here), and after exchanging some emails, he’s offered us the chance to submit interview questions to the author (Chelsea Cassel-Monroe, author of the World of Warcraft official cookbook). Her website, specifically the page about the cookbook, can be found here.

From what the author has said in the past, it sounds like the focus of this one is the main series, and even though she couldn’t include actual ESO recipes due to licensing, did take inspiration from some of them and the lore of the races.

Does anyone have any questions they’d like to ask?

How do I fry a Khajiit and what is the best dish for a Khajiit to be used in?

What are the "interview" questions intended to do? Are they just for us the get some random trivia info, or will they have something to do with the cookbook?

I've actually already sent them off and just gotten an answer, I should unsticky this. (Currently waiting on the publisher’s go-ahead to post it; keep an eye on the front page of the wiki!)

They're generally related to the cookbook, stuff like "what made you decide on apricots for the Skooma recipe", "where do you recommend finding the more unusual ingredients", etc.

So, you didn't ask about aspic or did she decline to answer that one...?

Was it a serious question? I assumed it was a joke.

It was tongue-in-cheek, but with genuine curiosity as to whether she might make meat jello. It's not Skyrim-specific, and to my knowledge only two in-game books mention it in passing. So, super obscure even if you're looking for obscure. But it is a real dish, I may have actually eaten some myself in my youth, but when TES reacquainted me with the term it lead to fruitless online searches a decade ago. Unless you possessed or had access to certain antique cookbooks, or lived in Russia i guess? it could easily be dismissed as world-building jargon. Today, however, Google will actually turn up a few suggestions on how to prepare it.

I can understand not taking my question seriously. I'll find out another way.

I'm guessing my legit question of how to cook khajiit won't make it in. Some of us like eating khajiit, you know!
