Re: What should I know before installing SKSE?
Thanks for that layout, Finn.
As for the script installation idea, I owe it to Gopher's video on the subject.

Re: What should I know before installing SKSE?
1. As far as I can tell from two and a half years of using it there is no risk whatsoever of SKSE messing up your game files, much less your OS; on the contrary, the memory allocation patch included in the current version (1.7.1) will improve the way Skyrim uses RAM and thus reduce the risk of the ...

I finished the Dawnguard questline for the first time on either side (Volkihar this time), although I've omitted destroying the Dawnguard because that's where another character comes in.

Re: Destruction or Archery?
Having ranged offense is a good idea for hard-to-reach enemies, but I don't think you'll really need it for dragons. If you hit them from a distance, you'll be hit with their shouts, which are also very potent. You'll be relying on magic resistance, but you said you don't want to use enchanting ...

PS. - Zephyr, I forgot to say how pleasantly surprised I am to see somebody else posting on this thread again! Are you still playing that Breton mage from the Reach?
Yes, although her backstory isn't completely ironed out, and I'm playing her concurrently with three others. Having profiles (with ...

Re: The TES Roleplayer's Thread
I'm curious to know the context of that statement because outside of that it can mean anything and it doesn't drive your point home. Every fictional story should be grounded in reality, meaning there has to be something that the readers identify with. Using a bow and arrow in Skyrim would be the ...

Re: The TES Roleplayer's Thread
For what it's worth, I think the word choice does work, especially since this is a fantasy story.
Mmm...no. Even though its a fantasy story, the proper terms for things still should be used. Bows are not fired. Guns are, as Finn already explained. Its a common mistake though.

Re: The TES Roleplayer's Thread
Also I noticed on rereading that you've sinned against a pet peeve of mine:
Aelys notched an arrow to her bow and fired.
No, she didn't. She loosed it. Guns are fired because they work by igniting powder and letting the force of the explosion propel the projectile. With bows there's no ignition ...

Fighting some Falmer Servants in Blackreach, I got a shield-bash killmove on one of them. And just as the guy started to fall backward, he took an ice spike to the face from Serana.

Forelhost . Felina at level 50. Master gameplay. Never seen so many draugr death-overlords in one...ONE...hallway. Like, 15 of them no joke. This goes down in the books as the toughest battle in my Skyrim history.

Now that didn't take long! :D Yes, that's it; the jutting black triangle in the upper left quarter is the High Hrothgar plateau seen from below. Your turn, Zephyr!
I've actually never noticed that. What I recognized are the vegetation and the jutting rock on the right side.

Re: Hilarious problem
The best character accident I've had was with my Breton mage, Alethea. I was tweaking her hair color (via RaceMenu ) from one of the default black options, and realized that purple kind of works. I figure it came from some experimental magic in childhood.
