Re: Playing Skyrim without Fighting?
Surely that is just a matter of taste. I myself seldom have the patience to be the knife in the dark, but I've rarely run into a situation where it would have been impossible to take the sneaky route with a proper character build.
It's not impossible, but it's cheesy. You very rarely can 1-shot ...

Re: Playing Skyrim without Fighting?
uh, I was trying to make an analogy... it doesn't really matter if potions are not magic anymore?
I always wanted to make sneak-type character work, tried a lot of ideas, but in practice it's just a lot easier, natural and satisfying to graduate in warhammers and maul your enemies. Sure you can get ...

Re: Playing Skyrim without Fighting?
In theory you could, in practice every game of this kind is designed and centered around combat. It would be like playing the game without magic. No scrolls, potions, enchanted items, nothing. You could, but you would be missing out 80% of the game.

Re: Player Houses
I was thinking about this a few days ago:
myself, I get a lot more satisfaction finding some awesome item, or even say 1000 monies, in a random dungeon rather than getting them as a quest reward. At the same time, things that change the game world, like becoming the owner of a house or a horse ...

Re: MGSO Troubles
included with msgo there is a utility called "exe optimizer" which is supposed to solve/reduce the CTD problems, however I was never able to get it to work. The faq for msgo itself says that the crash on exit is normal.

Re: Something isn't working
I'm not sure if I understand this,
but if your problem is the morrowind launcher won't let you enable mods, you can try enabling them with wrye mash.
since nobody suggested this still and the talk is about mod conflict, I may have completely misunderstood.

Re: MGSO Troubles
I don't get any errors, so I don't know which files are missing. the inventory icon for jewels is simply not there but I get the name tooltip if I hover the mouse. For the plants, some turn a bright white instead of the "spent" version you should get when once you harvested them. It's just a bit ...

Re: MGSO Troubles
I have a different sort of (minor) problem with the overhaul, hope you don't mind if I post it here.
Basically, due to a corrupt download, I am missing some textures: some jewels (those with fancy names, like "blue sapphire ring") and the "picked" versions of some plants. I no longer have the ...

Re: New to Morrowind and could use some help sticking with i
I'm hijacking this thread because I'm not sure my question warrants a new one.
I want to start a playthrough with a mage/thief character. I started the game several times but never went far, because most challenges encourage you to abuse game design flaws to power up your character, to the point ...
