Actually it is Al Capone's upper face, and Count Basie's mouth. The head shape is my own. Don't remember whose nose that is.

So I just got GTA5, and it's probably going to be a few days before I post anything new. So rather than post a drawing, here's a question: who's your favorite artist?

For me, it's Bill Watterson.

Growing up, Calvin and Hobbes was my favourite comic strip. He had a great way of mixing a child's view of the world with more profound topics than just the daily joke. I loved how he represented the world of imagination with great skill and detail while the 'real world' was cartoonish and simplistic. The man's a phenomenal artist.

These days I can't just pick one artist I like most, there are too many in lots of different genres and art styles I admire.

Wretched: Adjective. Poor, sorry, or pitiful
Fan art for TES V: Skyrim.

I’m sorry, but I just can’t take something called ‘Wretched Abyss’ seriously.Image

After making those 1950's style cakes, I grew eager to make more images in that style.

Baldness: Inception
This is some silly fan art for TES V: Skyrim, explaining why (in my mind) Ondolemar the Thalmor from Markarth is bald.

Avron was talking about folds 'n stuff earlier, so I did a few foldy sketches on the bus. Plus some extra crap I couldn't crop out.

We should have some, like, Challenge-of-the-Week, where we practice something, like clothing folds or eyeballs or whatever.

Also, practicing with glossing/ using retardent to blend layers, and the first of many practice studies for a Kinkadian project I'm working on.

On the side, Doros, I love you in purple. ;)

Been doing a lot of characters lately, but here's the pencil sketch of one I'm already halfway through painting!

It's turning out pretty nice, just a quick watercolor. I think his hair is much too large and his face could be a bit more wide, but in color it doesn't look very bad at all. The only downer is that I found out this supposedly watercolor safe paper is prone to wrinkling and crinkling no matter what I do, so I guess it's back to watercolor board until I manage to get a stack of even thicker paper.

Note: I take all these quick photos with my phone, so...blame the quality on laziness.

I would join Deviant Art, but I doubt anyone would like my retro art.

You should do it Jeelius, your stuff is great and if there's people on there who like an artist because he draws famous female characters so morbidly overweight that they look like the Blob (honest to God, found it on accident), then there's bound people who love retro.

Trust me when I say it, art is a bliss with variety. Go for it mate, you never know unless you take that first step  DE has alot of people, some with majestic skills.. others who clearly have none.. but I do say you do have the skills to pull it off. Do not get discouraged by others whom are more successful, rather admire and strive to reach for that success

Tending to Mummy
Fan art for TES V: Skyrim.

I suddenly deсided to indulge in my childhood passion - ancient Egyptian art.Image

So behold Cicero and the Night Mother, in the style of the frescoes in pharaohs' tombs!.. After all, tending to the dead was quite a pet subject in Egypt.Image

Do those hieroglyphs say "Mother"? There is the perfect amount of letters for it to say so.

I just went to watch drag races a few days ago with my friends and the modded stock drag cars look like the left drawing. The trunk projections need to be raised, but you can't tell from an overhead view. That was my first time at one of those races. Those stock cars were my favorite. I love the shaking feeling it causes to the whole area, especially right before they take off. SO MUCH POWER. SO MUCH HAULING. GYAHAHHH!!!! I can't get over it. It's just awesome. Anyway, sorry for getting off subject. :D
