Good, for if we created new textures it might conflict with other mods.

That is the main reason we are cautious - I play alot of mods and so do all others. PAX Redoran, Tamriel Rebuilt, Morrowind Overhaul, etc.

So with more comptability, and a good story; we can get a good mod that doesn't change much in the external view besides a few new buildings, new NPCs, and some banners.

You should also go over the battle we've planned, as well as our general story for House Redoran's side.

Alright, so I'll be happy to join in with this if you want me. I'm not a particularly experienced modder and I dou t I'll have a lot of time to help, bu I'd say I know enough to be of some use. I'll try to catch up and see what you guys have done, and let me know what you want to use me for.

To be honest, I don't have a whole lot of experience as a modder under my belt, per se. I think we're aiming for something relatively low key as far as only using things included by Bethesda in-game, rather than adding too many new meshes, textures, etc. We'd love to have you on board, and would also love to hear your thoughts on the ideas so far. When we nail down the quest outline, we can get into job assignment and the actual modding. Hopefully by then we'll have a few more modders on board.

@POMC, even if you have no experience, you can still help out. Maybe do a couple of practices to get some basic experience, and we'll see how we can fit you in. Many hands make light work.

Still nothing, although he got my PM. Sit tight for a bit.

Also, I got a chance to read through all of the above posts in more depth, so ...

POMC S117 wrote:
This sounds amazing! I really want this! You guys are excellent modders! Say, Duruza you could make a Battle for the East mod. With the characters!

I'm just imagining the scale of that kind of mod . Neigh impossible, without a huge team of modders, and the story isn't even finished yet. Maybe an Easter Egg or two in the Skyrim Mod, if and when that kicks off.

Veck wrote:
Oh, I can add new NPCs and stuff, no problem. Cell design is something I can do without much issue.

That's perfect. The aim is to keep things fairly simple, cell alteration, dialogue and quests, quests being the trickier of the three.

We can get onto that side of things now if you want. One thing though, any ideas on specific quests for the middle section of the House Redoran line, between Council and 'battle'?

Helping Troop Moral

Instigating unrest in Caldera

Helping train the troops

Gaining support for your choice

And (finally) gaining support from the Temple (So you can have some crusaders, get a few blessings, and and they can share in the glory)

@Midgetalien, thanks, you're welcome to help out if you wish to

@Velothi, change "Making the citizens of Caldera revolt" to "Instigating unrest in Caldera" and that looks like a great start. We may also want to include some ideas for 'favour' and 'blackmail' quests, as well as some for the negotiation quest-branch.

Also possibly a 'Pacify the Imperial Legion' quest, although that might be tied to a specific NPC to win over/blackmail.

Trying not to work in too much politics and blackmail to the Redoran line :P

No problem, we probably wont get into it for a while anyway. I'm almost run off my feet at the moment as it is, even without too much gaming and modding.

Alright, do we need specific dialog as of yet or do you want to dwell more on what I have planned?

If you want, you could get right into the Council and dialogue leading up to it (I remember you posted some before). If you've got the time, you could even start on developing that quest, and I'll take a look at whatever you post here when I get the chance.

Okay guys, how about I try and write up an outline for a Hlaalu campaign, and you can look at what I've got and change it at your leisure?

That'd work out.

As I'm the main brain behind the Redoran campaign, and Duru corrects it when it seems "too Redoran" :P

"Greetings, my fellow Redorans! Now I have called you all here to discuss an important issue, which would be Caldera in this case. For years, we have seen our land been misused and abused by the Hlaalu and their Imperial masters! For years, we have waited and tried to defend ourselves against the chaotic forces of Dagoth; along with bringing the issue to the Grand Council on several occassions. All in vain! None of our wishes were met, we were not given any scrap of aid, and what is worse is that Hlaalu has been specifically stealing the ebony ore for themselves! This can go on for no longer, as Miner Arobar will explain after my speech is finished. Now I fully support him in his plan, but I will give all ideas thoughts to show my open-mind to the prospects of reclaiming Caldera for House Redoran. Now, without further a due, I will allow Miner Arobar to explain his plan." (Bolvyn Venim's dialog, House Brother and House Council-man)

"Thank you, Archmaster. Now my plan is to rally our troops for an invasion against this. How, you may ask? As Garisa Llethri has sent %rank %PCname to investiage the corruption in Caldera; this can be more than enough evidence to prove that the Hlaalu are being not only complacent with this theft of ebony, but willingly being apart of it. So we will act and send our forces to 'remove' the governor and his corruption from Caldera. With the evidence that the city will possess, the Grand Council will deem us fit to maintain and operate Caldera in peace. We will, however, have to train troops, increase moral and gain a good standing from the Temple on this. Thus many native Dunmer will support this action, leaving only House Telvanni and Hlaalu in opposition. If Telvanni wishes to not play games with war...but that is my plan, though I would be happy to hear other options to obtain Caldera for House Redoran."

Velothi you joker :P. I'll take a closer look when I get home.

I'd be happy for you to write something up Veck, and I'll take a look at it when I get the chance. I think there are a few notes on the rough outline we were looking at in the first few pages of this thread (if you're up to a bit of reading that is).

I also recommend we put some slight references to Brother Jupiter's Twin Lamps mod.

Yup-yup.

Almost concerning the Labourers and Farmers Guild grievances towards slavery - and how one can use that against Caldera. (Garisa could mention how the guild would support Redoran as this would present more jobs for Morrowind's citizens and miners)

You might still be of some help. We could get you to be one of our compatibility or bug testers perhaps?

Quote:
"Greetings, my fellow Redorans! I have called this Council to discuss an issue of great importance, the Caldera Mines. For years, we have seen our land been misused and defiled by the Hlaalu and their Imperial masters! For years, we have waited and tried to defend all of Morrowind from the chaotic forces of Dagoth. We have brought our pains to the Grand Council on many an occasion. But for what? All in vain! None of our wishes have been addressed, we have not been given a scrap of aid, and what is worse, House Hlaalu has been stealing the ebony ore that is rightfully ours! This can go on no longer, but we will not lay down and do nothing. I will allow Miner Arobar to explain our plan." (Bolvyn Venim's dialog, House Brother and House Council-man)

"Thank you, Archmaster. My plan is to rally our troops to take back the Caldera Mines. Councilman Garisa Llethri sent %rank %PCname to investiage the corruption in Caldera; collecting more than sufficient evidence to prove that the House Hlaalu are not only complacent with this theft of ebony, but willingly partaking of it. So we must act and send our forces to 'remove' the governor and his corruption from Caldera. We must move now without delay, but with the evidence that we possess the Grand Council will have no objection to our actions. It shall not be easy, we must ready our troops and we must prepare to retake Caldera."

Velothi, I made some changes to the tone, but the content is pretty much spot on. What do you think of the amended version?

Thanks, you gave me an excellent piece of work to begin with .

I'm going away on exchange to France in a week, so I won't be around for a month, and even then, I'll be straight back into school. If you have any ideas, in the next month, I'll check them when I get back, and PM me if you need to talk, I'll try and check my PMs fairly regularly if possible.

If you want you might also start looking into the CS side of things, maybe even work on the first Redoran quest if you're up to it, and we can have a look at it in more depth when I get back.

I'll try and post a solid outline of that quest within the next week.
