what is the mythic dawn sword? they only use summoned weapons, specifically dagger and mace.

I looked up that Goldbrand. Katana. Awesome. Too bad it's only second to Umbra. Sorry guys. I'm gonna get Goldbrand though, looks cool. I like Katanas.

umbra is overrated. it isnt that good. sure it has a little extra base damage, but soul trap 120 sec?! wtf!

I personally Goldbrand, however I have too vote for Umbra, because my Main Quest completing Imperial (and other characters) couldn't live without it as his bow/high fire damage sword (Not Goldbrand he isn't high enough level to get it.) would run out of charge in a little while. 120 seconds may be way overkill with a sword that can get up too 30 something damage since they won't be around for 120 more seconds, but it basically just recharges itself, and all the other magic weapons in your inventory if you have empty soul gems, which are significantly cheaper than filled ones.

at higher levels it is much easier to buy soul gems though. or even find a few too.

Shadowrend is the best 2h sword in the game, but not the best looking. In fact, I think it looks horrible! But it's still kind of cool knowing that your sword belonged to

i like umbra because it works well with azuras star

so you burn up enchantment charges using soul trap to fill up the star to refill umbra?

the quality of umbra's 120 second soul trap makes it unique and very useful, it also is 1 handed and does nearly 40 damage. And it looks like a proper sword, too. But it's more a support weapon than main weapon cos using 10 charges in a fight is a waste of time so you'd probably have to alternate swords to get the most out of it

I like the look of shadowrend; its the only 2-handed weapon i would be seen with in public. Getting it is good fun as well

With your blade skill affecting it, yes. It's base damage is 40.

the page says 28, and even with the armorer 75% thing, that comes out to be like 35, isnt base damage the max damage a weapon does, with STR and Skill at 100?

well, i happen to be playing and have it, my str and skill are both 70, and its damage is 22, which sounds right. are we talking about the weightless or weighted one?

It's the same item, it's only un-flagged as a quest item after you finish a certain quest.

are you sure thats all that happens? because more than 1 person claims it to be 40...

I just hate the hole in it. It looks so ugly. Like two bars being put together at the top.

it is the same shape as the dragonsword of lainlin. also, could someone link to the "mythic dawn" sword, or atleast explain it?

I can't see any way it could get too anywhere near 40. My consoled level 89 with 255 in all attributes and skills can only get 33 damage out of it, I don't see how 40, or anything remotely close, is possible.
