I signed up! Apparently my chance to get in is 'Excellent'. We'll see what that's worth. And oh, I mentioned I'm a member here. Hopefully that helps!

Gah, I keep getting a 404 error. Apparently I've got an "above average" chance, though.
EDIT: Got through on my fourth try. Try Google Chrome if you're having trouble; someone recommended it on the Facebook page for the game, and I couldn't get it to work on IE or Firefox, so I downloaded Chrome and it worked.

I think we all got above average. So that makes average below average. And above average avarage.

I'm listening to the podcast right now (#17 here). They say that if you apply for the beta, you'll have an all right chance of getting into it by the end, but they're going to start with fewer people who are "more experienced" (the way they phrased it, I don't know if they mean experienced at MMOs or people who have tested stuff before), then slowly let more and more in until there are thousands of people in the beta.

What does "sign up" mean?

Sorry if that's an ignorant question, but I'm under the impression you just buy this game, install it, and play?

This is for the beta - to test things out in the months before the release. You sign up for the chance to test it.

This would explain my 'Excellent' status, as I've participated in quite a few beta events before.

The FAQs say you have to be over 18 to participate. Guess answering honestly wasn't the best option.

I completed my application today. I got above average as well. Oh! I also mentioned that I am a member of the UESPF. I was actually disappointed with myself that the only MMO I have played on their list was LOTRO.

I think I got above average myself, when I took it. I have done some beta testing before, and played a number of MMOs, so hopefully that counts for something. I, too, mentioned being a member of UESP. Fingers crossed.

I got excellent, I'm hoping my +7 years of MMO experience and beta testing for two of ESO's major competitors combined with my love of TES lore will help...
...of course, being part of their largest target demographic doesn't hurt either...

It's people like you who should get in, yet I swear it's the 13-year old kids who lied during the whole sign up progress who will get in, lol.

Above Average!!! I hope its enough!! Maybe I should have fibbed a bit?!?!?

A sad truth, but in both tests I've been in there's always people of all ages who don't report bugs and play like it's the final product, ready to complain without thinking of bettering the game...(sans solutions or constructive criticism)

To those from here that do get chosen and have no testing and/or MMO experience,

• Make sure you report every bug, no matter how minute
• Remember first that you are there to make the game better and give your opinion, not just to get a sneak peak of the game before everyone else
• Give your honest opinion and ideas, even if you think/know it has little chance of happening; if there's enough backing it could be a future feature after launch
• Be respectful to everyone, nothing says ignore like a petty squabble turned bloodbath because someone can't play nice without swinging their epeen in everyone's face or has to be mister diss-er

But most of all, remember it's a game and isn't something to get blue-in-the-face over, enjoy the time and relish in the fact that you worked towards making a better game for your fellow gamer

I'm not 18, I could lie about it but I'm not sure if I even want to beta test it. Something about playing an unfinished product looking for bugs feels like it could wreck the experience for me when the full game comes out.

There is some of that, yeah. But at the same time, you're helping polish the finished product and make sure it's as good as it can be, so when it does finally come out, it'll be a better experience for everyone, and you can take some pride in having helped make it that way. Of course, if you're not 18, it's rather a moot point...

"Above Average"... hm. I wonder how they calculate that (though I'm guessing the fact that I've only played two MMOs before hurt my chances).

I'm also curious what exactly they're looking for in the essay section at the end.
