Simple question.

What will/would you play as in the ESO?

You got two votes.

Chose my favorite races from previous games (redguard and Dunmer), though IF they allowed us to play as Akiviri races I'd go with either Tang Mo, or the Snake People(Tsaesci?)

Because I only get two votes I'll say Argonian and Bosmer, my two favourite races. But most likely I will create as many characters as I can. So if we have ten slots for characters I will make one of each race.

Dunmer or Breton, I think. I'm actually not entirely sure. Before the MMO's release I will probably sit down and craft up a character and backstory as best I can, but race tends to be one of the things I flipflop on for a long, long time.

I'd go with Bosmer, my first character in every ES game so far has been a male Bosmer with the name Menion and I'm not going to stop now.

Well I'm angry that Cyrodiilic did not make the list, even thought they are an obvious choice. But I will most likely chose Breton or Dunmer. They are my favorite for obvious reasons.

I'm probably going for Altmer. The Summerset Isles always fascinated me.

I'm probably going to play as a Bosmer or a Dunmer, two of my three favorite races. Though I could go Argonian, seeing as that race was the first one I used in an Elder Scrolls game, just for sentiment.

Imperials are not a playable race in ESO.

I know that, and they are called Cyrodiilics before the time of Talos. So no, I meant what I said. Thought you had one on ole Br3admax, didn't you?

Breton. I always play as Breton the first time around in every ES game, so why change now? When (if) I get bored of that, Redguard, because Daggerfall Covenant FTW.



I always thought that Bretons would be unpopular, because their lore is a bit bland - though personally I always like the half man, half elf thing - and the impression I got was that people didn't think they were particularly strong as mages. Perhaps I was mistaken, and the Daggerfall Covenant won't be as depopulated as I imagined.

Seeing as it's the 'normal' human race instead of the Imperials, I'm sure it will get more love.

Plus, playing as a Dunmer, I might even join the Covenant. The King is Barenziah's husband, after all!!!

I actually really like Breton lore, if because it makes them, to me, an interesting collection of people. A society so used to war, deceit, and trickery - where else can I put my smooth tongue and desire to smash things? (We all know I love Imperials, but Bretons would be a nice ability, I think.) Besides, I love combat but Skyrim really got me into the whole magic thing, and Bretons seem like a nice balance for that.

I'm actually not sure about playing a Dunmer because I fear that, because of the love Dunmer get with Morrowind, there will be so many of them it'll be boring. I'm hoping that fear won't be there, but it's one I have. Don't get me wrong, because I love Dunmer lore, but I always feel that everyone is always, I don't know, "HUZZAH DUNMER ROCK YAY!" and such. But I notice a lot of other races getting undue love, so that's awesome!

(On the upside, I bet there will be lots of Dunmer that I can get someone to be my character's friend and justify my wanting to be "Avron the S'wit" as a non-Dunmer, haha! )

A little too far ahead, I think. Anyway, Bretons have always been my favorite Elder Scrolls race, next to Dunmer who were my first.

Dunmer forever, strange that we are allying with the Nords and the Argonians; but not any less bad-ass!

If I played it I would play as a Breton.

I'm shocked no-ones is choosing 'nord.'

Maybe people are a little burnt out on Nords and Nord related things post Skyrim. It's not that we don't love Skyrim or the Nords, it's just that there are eight other starting provinces.

If they have magic resistance, Breton. If I buy the game, that is.

Well, I'm in a bit of a funny position since my three favourite races are Argonians, Dunmer and Nords, but I think they're all in the same faction! Since I wouldn't want to replay the same faction specific quests again I'd likely just start with an Argonian and then see decide what I feel like playing and how races in the other factions are setup for it, i.e - choose based on any racial abilities if they have them.

I've been told there's three main single player stories in this game, so I'm playing through each faction at least once.

I'm thinking Dunmer, then Breton, then Khajiit.

That way I can say I've done Elf, Man and Beast Race, but picked the most interesting from each faction IMO. To me anyway.

Yeah I would probably do the same thing, though I would go Argonian, Bosmer and Orsimer. I can never seem to get into the human races, no matter how hard I try. And then after I've done each faction, if I still felt like playing I would make other characters using the unused races.

On the subject of Nords, I think when ES:O is released they will be the least populated race to begin with. Not many people will choose to play through Skyrim again while there are so many other unexplored provinces to start in.

I'd probably play a Bosmer or a Dunmer, but I might change depending on how the game is going to alter.
