I am going to make your proclamation a reality.

Partial animation is easy to do with a mixture of photoshop and image ready, just takes quite a bit of layers. I couldnt' quite get the background I wanted without taking away from the tones I used for skin on two of the three elves. I settled for more of the grey-er color though.

Oh my god I love it! Some constructive criticism however, with that great of a background, the text is sort of lacking. Any way you could make it stand out more?

I participate(d) on a forum where creating graphics such as this is quite popular. One thing that you notice very quickly over there is that text is hard to do right. The common advice to give is to make text simple, before making it look more complex. If you get the text just a little bit wrong, it takes away from the whole banner as you are attracted to the text and whatever is wrong with it. That is why my text is plain. I honestly spent half the time making the signature choosing the text. I had to make "2012" and "Skyversary" different colours to make them visible and not make them look odd. I'm also very fussy with text placement.
And yes, I agree that the text is plain.
