Does anyone know how to start the quest given by tolfdir, Rogue wizard??? I've tried talking to him and it isn't allowing me to ask him any questions leading up to this quest!!! Can someone please help!!!

I've looked through the Creation Kit and it seems that this quest may only available if you've been kicked out of the College and have done the quest Rejoining the College to get back in - It's starting point is in the same "MGRejoin" dialogue tree as the above quest.

thanks man! so youre suggesting that i somehow get kicked out of the college, complete "rejoining the college', and then the quest should be available by tolfdir?

I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to the CK, so I wouldn't swear to it. It may have just been "misplaced" into the wrong dialogue tree, or it may be broken and not available at all.

If you want to try it, I'd definitely recommend you keep a save point before you get yourself kicked out, just in case.

I'd try getting caught stealing someone's stuff - throwing a punch might get you a fireball in return.

do you know if they have put a patch out yet fixing this quest?

Everything illegal you do on college grounds guarantees a fireball in return
