So I did the quest, deciphered the Lexicon, and gave it to Septimus Signus. Now it says I have to wait until he contacts me. I am level 26 and i occasionally go and talk to him. He just says something about how maddening it is not to be able to open the sphere. How can i get the quest for harvesting blood? Are there any other requirements other than being above level 15?

Have you left the cave? If not do so. Otherwise wait around a bit until a courier approaches you with a message from him.

EDIT: I read the wiki article on the quest and couldn't find anything else (honestly it was a bit confusing). Only help I can offer is head to a hold like Whiterun and see if a courier comes up to you and delivers a message. I'm unsure if you have to wait a certain amount of in-game time though.

Deciphered the Lexicon? Think you mean inscribe the Lexicon. You went to the tower of Mzark (through Blackreach) and did all the stuff there? And you got the

He should just instantly figure out what to do next and give you another objective. That's what he does, without fail, for me every time (and I've done the quest three times).

Have you... Attuned (?) the Attunements Sphere?

I am having the same problem but i am only level 20. this is my third time to get the oghma and i cant figure out why it is messing up like this. Since I've dont the quest that i could ive completed the companions quest line and waited for 24 hours in both whiterun, solitude, and the Mage College.

Funny, I did this quest and as soon as I gave him the runed lexicon, the discussion went on and he gave me the blood sampler device right away... Don't know what to tell you. Go outside and wait a few game days away from the area?
