ES Games: Oblivion
Platform: PS3, PC
UESPoints: 0
PC Specs:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: i5-2500k Intel quad core
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 560Ti

I'm pretty sure that the problem doesn't have to do with my computer. I'm thinking maybe steam or a problem itself with the game I have no clue, but any advice?

I am having the same problem. it seemed to install fine.but for some reason it just isn't working. I hit play on steam and it says that it is setting up for first time use and installing Microsoft DirectX. the it goes to the options menu for Skyrim and I hit play. Then nothing the game doesn't start and the options menu closes.

Make sure you guys check through this topic on a previous error and its fix. If you are still having problems afterward, leave very specific errors and your PC specs so our local tech experts can help out!

Probably because Beth forgot to test 24bit sound throughly. 16bit sound is already way better then what your ears can distinguish , I'm slightly surprised ANYONE uses 24 bit sound output.
