Guys i need help again. I made a battlemage and put all my perks in one handed, heavy armor and destruction. I have no problem dealing with most enemies but those two-handed bandits are killing me in one or two hits. I have been putting points into health/magic in a 2:1 ratio. Am i doing anything wrong or two handed warriors really THAT powerfull? :(

Well first off, Bosses are WAY hardar then the other enemeys inside.
since your magic is weak comapred to sword, I'd say get a steel sheild. to help some what (just for the fight) or use magic and run around

While fighting with out a sheild its best not to get hit, dodge and weav, two handed is slower so it should be a bit easyer to do
something I did not ask, what race are you? their racial powers can chancge the game big time.

Damn it! My system got crashed today and I have to format it. And i lost my level 15 imperial battlemage. :(
However i am trying to make another battlemage but i am thinking more of a twohanded+heavy armor build with cloaks spell from destruction. And when surrounded, I will cast some AOE spells in destruction. I basically liked the look of a heavy armored greatsword wielding warrior. So, what kind of magic or spells will go well with two handed weapons? I don't feel like playing one handed again as i have already done it for some time but i dunno how well magic goes with two handed weapons. Any help please?

Also I am saving up light armor+archery for my khajiit theif build so, i cant use archery for long range backup.

You always have to switch between magic and your weapon... I hope you're ready for that...

a strong shield block will stagger 2 handed attacks and give you a chance to counter before they try another attack - you can also shield bash and keep them stunned

this is my tactic for 2 handed attackers

the other thing is ice form shout or some sort of damage stamina or paralysis effect which is dirtier but sometimes necessary

Thanks for the tips. In fact i started loving the shield bashes. They are awesum! :D

Btw, I was just exploring skyrim doing dungeons when i saw a dragon gaurding a wall. So i killed the dragon, absorbed its power and then went and got the word from wall. But its not unlocked and when i try to equip it from magic menu, it says i should absorb dragon souls. But i just got a soul before i read the word. Am i supposed to do something to unlock it?

Maybe you had collected several other words but didn't have enough dragon souls to unlock every one, and the last soul you absorbed unlocked another word already in your inventory.

Yes, you have to hit a buntton, for 360 its "x" i dont know for pc

The first word you get unlocked for free, the rest you have to unless someone else teachs you it.

Ok I unlocked the shout and everything was fine. Until i meet a dragon that just won't attack me. It just keeps circling above me. I am not low level. I am around level 20. So, why is the dragon not attacking me? Is this some bug? :(

If the dragon don't notice anything that is "worth" attacking this sometimes happens(e.g: if he flies to high), also this is more common after you finished the main quest. Let the dragon be and leave, nothing to worry about.

Sigh! It seems Steam really hate me. It is throwing a new error everyday at me while i try to play skyrim. The recent one is "This game is currently unavailable. Please try after sometime". Well, i was trying for past 24hours but i couldn't get the game running. I wanna kill the idiot who invented steam. I mean i payed full money and purchased the game. Why the hell do i need to wait for steam servers to get free or something? I am sorry for venting my anger on you guys but this is the last straw. If TES 6 is realeased on steam, i am just gonna pirate it. I am never gonna spend a single penny again for a game that uses steam.

Sorry, but we're not allowed to discuss ways to pirate the game on these forums. Also, it's best if in the future you use the edit button to alter your old post rather than making another one before anyone's replied.

Hi fellow Steam-Hater. I must admit if I had noticed that Skyrim requires Steam to play I would not have bought it.

That aside you CAN legally play Skyrim without Steam, or in Off-line Mode at least. I had the same problem, I solved it by logging directly into Steam (not Skyrim) and switched to Off-line Mode. Then started Skyrim. Once you do this once you never have to log into Steam ever again.

Unless you want patches :(

I was playing it offline and i had some 70 hours of gameplay. But all of a sudden when i try to play, i get the error "game is unavailable". It has been a week and it is verry frustrating :(

I didn't even do any patches or updates.

I also do not like steam. I do not feel there is a need for a middleman, as all it does is allow for more issues, like this one, to happen. I did know Skyrim was a Steam game, and debated quite hard on not getting it solely for that reason.

- Do you have other games on Steam?
- Have you started Steam for any reason?

I have not had this happen with Skyrim (yet), but it has happened with me for Civ V. If you open Steam, even for a short while, it can start a download, and if you do not complete the download, then it can make Steam, or the Game unavailable, until you complete the download. This is usually the most common reason for the "game is unavailable" message.

Tejas, go online in Steam and see if that solves the problem. I was unable to play Skyrim for a limited time while Patch 1.2 was being applied, even when I went offline, until the download was finished (at the same time I had internet connection troubles, so the download lasted much longer than it should have)

I was unable to play Skyrim for six hours while the High-Res Texture pack installed, as opposed to the two hours predicted by Steam.

Never trust steam's download time expectations.

They're never true.
