So what do you guys think about this? I think it's pretty cool being granted access to new abilities related to Vampirism and Lycanthropy. Oh and according to the Dawnguard page you can visit someone to change your appearance, how would that work?

Recently leaked information has revealed these skills level independently from your level. Even if you're 50 you can max vampirism or lycanthropy out. You get perks depending on kills in werewolf/vampire mode. That's pretty exciting.

Magical plastic surgery.

Lol. I reckon the ability to change your appearance is limited to hair and facial hair. The guy added to Riften might be some kind of barber.

Actually, I think you can edit every aspect of your character's face.

So my character can go from being muscular, young and bearded one second to weak, old and bald the next...

The guy who changes your appearance is supposed to be in the Ratways. Probably a TG member who specializes in changing people's appearance when they don't want to be recognized.

I'm hoping the Vampire perk tree is divided at the base between regular vampire perks and vampire lord perks.

From what I've heard it's specifically a "Vampire Lord" perk tree. The good news is that apparently you can change in and out of your Vampire Lord form freely, unlike the 1/day limit for werewolves.

That "Limit" no longer exists once you accept lord Hircine and use his ring properly. Can't wait for the new gifts. Let the Hunt begin again!

If they use something similar to what we saw in the DICE video, it looks like the Lycans will earn perks to change several times a day using the standard Beast Form (which would be nice; I have the Ring, but it's a couple extra steps to activate it).

And yeah, it looks like both perk trees are associated with the transformations for both creatures. Vampires will probably mostly maintain Stages 1-4 as they are now (probably a few tweaks, including NPCs no longer freaking-out at you during Stage 4), with all of the extra perks going to Stage 5 (Vamp Lord).

I agree on the ease of use but with the ring's unlimited transformation capabilities which all werewolves should have picked up I feel it would be redundant and a waste of other amazing gits. I'd rather the first 1-5 slot be claw damage increase.

They've probably refined it by this point, so we shall see. But I agree with you about the ring; it is essential, at this point. Makes crossing the map three times faster and twice as fun.

As a real Hircine zealot I opt to wear all of his gear so I exploit the quest and get both but for any who don't know about that trick or just don't want to abuse the quest always take the ring if you plan on staying a werewolf.

I took both, too. I don't really see it as a glitch/exploit, but rather tricking Hircine.

Having the ring might make that particular perk of the Lycan's obsolete (sort of like the Steed Stone making the Conditioning Perk somewhat so), but I'm sure you'd have enough points to get it anyhow.

I took the approach IC that I'm proving myself worthy of both by defeating the hunters and Sinding.

It'd be nice if they added some type of perk that increases the health regen. rate of Werewolves. In mythology, that was supposed to be one of their strongest traits.
