I've done it before...But that didn't happen to me.

I suppose, during patch 1.3, when all resistances were stripped, it would be theoretically possible to become a werewolf and a vampire at the same time in Skyrim...But there wouldn't be much point to it.

From the vamps we see in dawnguard, the cool flying ones, plus a werewolf would look sick and would be very fast strong and could fly.

It shoud just work. ahah like we have alien+predator=predalien how bout werewolf+vamp=hybrid.

/shrug beyond allowing you to fast travel while overloaded with goods? I don't see much point to playing as a werewolf anyways after you get past lvl 30~

Vampire + necromage and heavily enchanted armour? sooo much love for the state of being undead.

The vamps themselves in dawnguard, full vampire or not look so cool. Anyone notice they look identical to Marcus from underworld?

Yeah kinda. I doubt you can become a vampire and a werewolf. Bethesda would probably pass it on as too overpowered
I dont want the gender change, though, because that would mean you would have to change your name.

Maybe it could be a future update or mod. and the gender change is just dumb.

I know, it ruins the immersion of the game. Whats the point of roleplaying then? Plus if you have a spouse you will want to change him/her, and it would be stupid.

So far, I see a lot of parody between the Vamp Lords and Lycans.

--The Lycans have a detect life power; the Vamp Lords appear to have echo location
--Lycans can run faster than most horses; Vamp Lords can fly/float
--Lycans focus a lot on melee; Vamp Lords appear to be focused on magic

What if...whoops! All of the sudden your character contracts vampirism...and does things he/she might not otherwise do? I am starting to entertain this thought...

I definitely think there should be perk trees for lycantrophy and vampirism. Even if I don't follow either. Hmm....even though I am not one for vampires I am starting to get excited. I just want more Skyrim! Well, I suppose there goes my short Alaskan summer!

I'm pretty sure Bethesda said they'd make the skill trees for the powers. But not perk trees. Rather than getting perk points and uPgrading, you upgrade by your progress or by feeding (I think)

And for House of the Wolfs post, maybe a hybrid of the two could be a power that balances all those features out? I'm just dying to see that. I remember everyone Doubting there being werewolves in skyrim. I knew it would be there. I have another good feeling about this one.

It looks to me like you'd earn perks for successful feedings/attacks; so, feed, say, twenty times, and you earn enough to pick a new perk on the vampirism skill tree.

That happend only if you were a werewolf and you contracted Porphyric Hemophilia. The Ring of Hircine,in my case, never had that effect.

Sidenote:To my knowledge, that bug was fixed by our kind community.

It's the same thing as with Fast Travel:Don't like it?Don't use it.
It doesn't appeal to me because Bethesda most likely will not make a viable story behind the mechanic. The possibility to change your appearance on the other hand is a welcomed feature.

It's not really a problem of it being overpowered. If you would be able to be both a vampire and a were(wolf, bear, shark etc) at the same time it would be a violation of Lore.
A vampire is,for all intents and purposes, dead while a werecreature is very much alive.Thats why becoming a werewolf in Skyrim automatically "cures" vampirism. It brings you back to life(with a added bonus).

The werewolf is pretty useful at crowd control also.Good for tossing pesky Briarhearts left and right.

If Bethesda would alter the effects of the Ring of Hircine to one transformation for non-werewolves and plus transformations for werewolves then there would be a feasible way of being both a werewolf and a vampire.

I sincerely hope that doesn't mean they won't increase the level cap.

Did you hear that somewhere, Gideon, or is it speculation at this point? Cause that'd be awesome. Having to use your standard perk points would be OK, but not ideal; but if the beast-forms (for either side) get their own independent perk-points, that'd be sweet.

Join the Lycans! :P You don't have any drawbacks, unless you like resting bonuses, and you have a permanent immunity to disease.

I dont think Bethesda is going to make the same mistake Obsidian did by giving us new levels every DLC thus making us even MORE stupidly OP then we are now.

There's 250ish total perks and we can get 80 of them, makes sense we could get roughly 1/3 of all total perks when they are split into warrior/mage/thief categories.

Just from a glance at that GameInformer leak, it's either an excellent photoshop job or the real thing, and the data is certainly plausible.

This would be the obvious way to avoid having to increase it; you aren't earning skill points, which might count towards your level, since Vampirism and Lycanthropy aren't skills. However, you can get perks, but the perk awarding is based on essentially the amount that you use your respective forms/powers.

Do you have a link? I'm in the mood to binge on that kind of info, right now.

Yes :) But those are not the problem. We are getting crossbows and spears as well(mmmm dragonbone crossbow....).We need an increased level cap to cater for those weapons.

Edit:or at least a training regiment to give out perks.

Crossbows use archery skill, and i haven't seen any confirmation on spears.

I would suspect Spears would use the two handed tree

I didn't suggest otherwise. They will be annexed to current skill/perk trees but they will come with their own perks which need skill points which in turn need levels.

Edit :or a training regiment (faction or otherwise) that gives out points as you complete each level.
