In a lot of the nordic ruins, there are the halls with the puzzle doors. I believe a npc call it the hall of stories. I cant really make out and of the pictures, do they actually tell a story?

I believe they do, however, I'm not sure what the story actually entails...My guess would be that it is the story of those who lived there. In what way, I have no idea...might be a story about their greatest hero or heroine, or something like that. I could probably have a look. I'll be back soon for editing when I do come up with something :)

I'm pretty sure it's just a stylised version of Snow White and the 7 Dwarves.

Or Queen Potema and the 7 Dwemer, whatever.

In the Creation Kit there are only a couple pieces called StoryWall, so whatever it is there are only one or two stories that could be told.

All of them are either of Potema or Tiber Septim, both in the same pose with several followers bowing before them. Theoretically it's a cool concept, but Bethesda didn't do much with it.

Wait, just how old are these ruins? I was under the impression that many of them were built and abandoned long, long before the Third Era.

I know the ones in Reachwater cave show at least 4 different characters. Each one seems to be wielding a different element (one looks like he is holding lightning, another fire). One looks like a dragon priest but thats it.

I was wondering the same thing myself when first playing the game, I examined the walls for awhile seeing if I could get something out of it, but sadly, effort was wasted.

If I can recall, they're depictions of dragon priests. Considering that all of the Nordic ruins that house Halls of Stories are former dragon-worshipper temples, and that the dragon priests had more power than even kings and jarls, it only makes sense that these walls would be praising them.

I examined the one in Bleak Falls Barrow closely, and I have decided.

One wall is a depiction of Boba Fett being thrown into the Sarlac pit.

The other wall is Brian Griffin doing the Peanut-Butter Jelly dance.

No more discussion. I have spoken.

That's what I thought too, but then I began to look at them more carefully and realized they're mostly of Potema. The one in Skuldafn is of Alduin, I think.

I'm pretty sure one of them is meant to be Alessia. Or maybe not..it's too early. A female figure surrounded by Moths would logically be her, but she prayed to Kynareth, so it may be Kynareth. One of them might be Magnus or Julianos - the mage figure. One of them has snakes on his head. He may be the Serpent/Sep/Shor/Lorkhan, or he may be meant to represent some Akaviri figure, even though these tombs predate their arrival by a very long time so it's unlikely.
