This thread is here for you to give your opinion on the various accents of the Races of Skyrim.
Do you find a particular accent to be an odd match for a particular race?
Do you love the choice they made for a particular races' accent?
Gripe, Praise, or just discuss your opinion on the accents of Skyrim
[Keep it civil, keep it safe]

My personal opinions, I love the Khajiit accents, but I'm having a hard time getting used to Dunmer and Argonian 'accents'
What happened to the Dunmer voice we heard in earlier videos? Am I just missing them or did Bethsoft again promise the old gritty ashland voice, but pulled it at the last second?
I haven't run into a lot of Argonians to say definitely, but the few I have seem to have similar accents as Bretons or Imperials

I like hearing female nords. They sound rather Spanish, or Russian. As long as its,not the same as in oblivion. The nord voices were terrible! Ove not yet found argonians. I like the voices of evetything i've already heard. :)

I've heard strange accents, the WHiterun guards seem to have an accent that's like Russian and British combined. I haven't seen any argonians or khajiits yet, well...at least no non-bandit khajiits.
I do like the fact that they didn't just get two people to voice a race (male and female) like in Oblivion) so there's some variety.

I love all of the new voices. Khajiit sound and speak more like they did in Morrowind, Argonians (The male ones at least, females sound a little granny-chainsmokery) adversely sound a lot more like men, with a slight draw to their S's. I really like it actually, it gives more distinction between the two races, and...

...well to be honest, I couldn't take the old Argonian voice seriously.

I also really like the Bosmer voices, they sound friendly.

I think the Nords accents vary alot im thinkin it maybe depends on what region they come from because some talk with an Irish accent others talk with kind of a deep raspy voice others sound russian and others german

The so called Spanish-Russian-British you guys are talking about is Icelandic.

I found an Argonian named Deeja outside Solitude. Female Argonians sound a lot more feisty than they did in Oblivion.

Yeah, I'd noticed that too, you get sort of Russian accents sometimes, and other times they seem more Northern European.

Argonians sound terrible, I want my lizardy speech back, it looks so odd having an argonian talk to you yet sound like a normal man.

Accents I really like:

Female Nords
Female Argonians
Khajiit

Accents I don't like:

Male Argonians (There is no accent)
Male Dunmer (What OP said. Teasing us with Arvel's raspy voice and then giving us [generic white voice])
Male Guards (I don't know why they thought a bad Austrian/Schwarzenegger accent would sound good)

The rest are alright but there's nothing special about them. I'm starting to notice a lot of repetition in the voices. Kids all sound the same, beast races only have one voice per-gender again, etc.

Come on Bethesda, you made it seem like with 70 voice actors no two people would sound the same.

I really love the Khajiit accent my hat goes off to how they did that, the traders i've met up to now sound like wise old Arabic men.
A lot of the Dark Elves sound English to me, the companions one and the preist of Mara are good examples.
The Male Argonians (I have yet to meet a female one) where a large let down after Oblivions voice, assuming they would sound like badarse lizards and then getting a normal voice was dissapointing.
The Nords where amazing, the mostly do sound Icelandic and Russian, but I noticed some of the men seem to have a slight Scottish accent.
I like the new Redguard voices they just sound, right really thats the only way to describe it.

A lot of males, especially guards, sound like they're doing an "Ahnold" impression. And the Dunmer voices are just disconcerting. I expect a good ole three-pack-a-day rasp and instead they sound like they're in a Harry Potter movie.

The male Argonians do have accents. They're just more refined.

I think it makes them sound less goofy. There's still a very slight roughness. Oddly enough, female Argonians sound pretty much just like they did in Oblivion.

An Argonian in Riften has a very generic American accent, something you'd hear as a narration for a cereal commercial

I love the Irish and Russian accents used in Riften and Windhelm, respectively. I don't like the new Argonian and Breton voices though. Just not the same.

Not entirely sure if it's just me who thinks this, but every so often I hear an accent of a guard that is extremely similar to Arnold Schwarzenagger.. First time I heard it, I couldn't stop from laughing, just too hilarious.

I don't recall what the accent was, but I heard a guard say "No lollygagging". With the accent, the first time I heard it, I had no idea what they said. I thought it was a different language. Only after I heard it again did I realize what it was. I have loved all of the accents and voice actors so far. Sure some people sound the same, but I have heard enough variety that I am impressed. Do I miss the gravelly Dunmer? A bit, but I think that's a small thing to complain about.

I really like the Redguard and Khajiit voices.

Also - the Nord voice seems fitting, as it feels like a blend between some northern european accents like Icelandic, Russian, a mix between danish / swedish / norwegian - and really hitting that "Nord"-accent you would expect.

Male Argonian accent is kinda dull in my opinion.

Overall, I mostly just love it.

I like the Schwarzenegger guards.

And one voice in game, I swear I heard on a Disney movie, but I can't remember which!

I think you must be thinking of Jim Cummings, who has done so many voice overs its so hard to tell. I recognize his voice first from A Goofy Movie, where he is Pete, the mean neighbor guy. But he has done a LOT of stuff.

I see a bit of russian, some sweedish, some scottish. I think they picked a great range of accents for skyrim. Although I have met some imperials whose voices where more nasely and annoying than the most annoying kids in the game.

Was at the Legion stronghold in Solitude when I realized that some of the legionnaires are done by the guy who did Fenris in Dragon Age II. Broody legionnaires.
