RIP Morrigan and Griffith, two Interesting NPCs who, fleeing from the Dark Brotherhood, ran right into its arms. Moved though Marilyn was by the story of an ex-assassin who killed his client and became like a father to the innocent girl he'd been hired to kill, she couldn't let a Brother get away with betraying the Family. She was tempted to let the girl go free, but one of her colleagues took care of the contract in our absence. Sometimes serving Sithis is no fun at all...

Ves had one of her drunken adventures and decided to randomly punch Uthgred. Teldryn Sero went all over protective and killed Uthgred. Well.... that went well.

RIP Vigilant Tyranus - not the somewhat feeble vanilla robe guy who wouldn't withstand a Dremora's sneezing, but Requiem's greatsword-wielding badass daedra slayer in legendary plate who studied with the Greybeards (at least I suppose that's where he learned Fus Ro Dah!). I had so got used to being oneshot by him at my earlier attempts to do this quest that I was gobsmacked when I managed to oneshot him this time. Yay armour-piecing archery perks!

RIP Willem, miner at the Left Hand mine
All Danae did was pick your pocket (and get caught). You shouldn't yelled at her...Aranea was both trigger happy and over protective.

RIP Markath guard.
All Danae did was stand there with candlelight spell in her hand... You shouldn't have tried to arrest her for Willem's murder and thief. Aranea pretty much killed you with one spell...
Oh, well, at least that somehow removed 1000 septims' fine from Danae.

After killing the bandit leader at the Silent Moons camp, and selling off the loot to local Whiterun traders, I decided to go into the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun. I met a priest of Arkay there, who told me that he'd lost his amulet of Arkay in the catacombs. He's afraid to go in there, because he thinks that the 'dead have become restless'. No problem, I'd figure. I can get the amulet for him. Should be a cake walk. As I walked into the catacombs, I encountered about four skeletons. My ranger character was unable to use his main weapon - a bow - to his advantage in the cramped catacombs, so he had to use his sword. But a sword doesn't really do any damage against skeletons - blunt, silver or magical weapons are more effective against them - so I decided to bravely retreat from the catacombs, so that I could return later. To my astonishment, the four skeletons chased me through the Hall. One axe wielding skeleton killed the Priest in one hit. Afterwards, the four skeletons focused their attention on me again. Knowing that I couldn't take on four of them without the proper weaponry, I ran outside, hoping the townsfolk and guards would be able to deal with them.

At this point, it started getting pretty ridiculous. The four skeletons cleaved through everyone, turning Whiterun into one massive graveyard. Farewell four whiterun guardsmen, Nazeem, Amren, Saffir, Brenuin, Sigurd, Carlotta, Andurs, Heimskr, Idolaf, Jon, Olfrid, Olava, Severio, Adrianna, Ysolda, Farkas, Vilkas and Aela. You will be remembered. You worried about the civil war. About the dragons. About surviving in the harsh land of Skyrim, only to be murdered by four undead skeletons because some ranger thought he'd be able to take them all on.

Well, of course, I was running numerous mods that turn Skyrim into a hardcore experience, but I didn't expect the undead to be quite as powerful. I normally don't revert to save games - when something unexpected happens and important people die, so be it - but I think it's justified in this case.

^ROFL! I wonder what combination of mods was responsible for such a massacre - I'm playing with Requiem myself which makes the undead pretty tough, but nowhere near as bad. Anyway, I'd probably have reloaded too under these circumstances.

RIP Ma'randru-jo. You were one hard mage to track down, but not hard enough.

RIP Anoriath, target of the first Dark Brotherhood contract that Marilyn was reluctant to carry out. You and your brother had been good to her when she was a poor and lowly adventurer-cum-wandering farm hand, giving her a discount on arrows and buying the venison she shot at a fair price. She doesn't know how she'll ever look Elrindir in the eye again - "What are you hunting? Nevermind, I don't want to know..." Damn right he was. If only she could be sure that somebody had truly performed the Black Sacrament for you and not just slipped a purse of coins into Nazir's pockets... It took her several bottles of wine to get drunk enough to forget her doubts until next morning.

RIP Frost, slain by stupid bandits outside Fort Greenwall. You were the best horse Marilyn has had so far in her second life, especially as you were the only one she got for free. Meeko will miss you too, he made very sad whimpering sounds at your corpse. Marilyn buried you true Bosmer fashion - by butchering you on the spot; she will craft something special from your hide, and she and Meeko will think of you with fondness whenever they chew their horsemeat jerky.

ETA: RIP Iona, mauled by Meeko after Marilyn slapped you for insulting your thane's pet. That got a bit out of hand. Still, Honeyside will be much roomier without you, and I won't miss you staring at me in my sleep.

RIP Anise. You have been the first person I kill outside of Helgen on every single play through no matter what. I have no idea if you ever were or would have been important. She died doing what she loved. Sitting.

RIP Torbjorn Shatter-Shield. Died of causes unknown.
RIP Severio Pelagia. Probably hit by a catapult projectile.
RIP "Imperial General". Chomped by Odahviing.
RIP Numerous soldiers on both sides of the war, mostly Imperials and Whiterun guards, though.

Ragnar. I have received 6 courier messages informing me of your death, so I don't know whether you managed to clone yourself or something, and I never seem to actually receive the 100 gold inheritance (actually 90, as the amount was fiendishly taxed).
Thank you for the money anyway, and I'm really sorry that I can't remember who you are.

RIP
Blueberry

May you rest in peace, Blueberry, a mighty Reikling you were and great friend during my time of need. We had many adventures, slayed many foes, and told many stories. In my fear of past events, I was indeed over protective of you at times. I presented to you a set of armor of the highest quality, made of frost that reminded you much of home. You should of seen the look in your face.. but alas.. all good things must come to an end..

Drunk with power and arrogance, we charged a nearby camp.. only to be faced with fate itself.. and so fought.. and amongst all the carnage.. there you were.. pale and lifeless.. I cursed at the foul winged beast, I refused to accept another's death once more. So I did the impossible, I undid time itself.. I went back to just hours before your ill demise. I shall not lose another friend, never again. Even if I must reanimate your hollow form time and time again.. I shall never let you leave my side... this curse we shall outlast...

Together forever.. Blueberry & BetaB17

Rip Eola. I simply used you for the ring and as soon as I got it I wanted your trusting blood on my blade to bring it to full glory.

However, 3 hours and 10 saves later (i only keep the last 10 saves to keep memory bank clear). Your death was avenged. I have all the artifacts but didn't realize I failed our mission until it was too late to possibly go back.

74/75 achievements... Must start new character to complete the hardest achievement of all. (My opinion)
