Alternative title: "Where in the World Is The Nerevarine?", Geoguessr is closer to this thread's concept, though.

The game works as follows, I will find a distinct location from a TES game, take a screenshot of the location, and from that, you have to determine where I am. The first correct guesser then gets to choose a new location, take a screenshot of it, and so on and so forth. If necessary, any player may ask for hints after the first day of no successful guesses (24 hours from the first incorrect guess), although the current controller should provide a few suggestions if it isn't going to be a very obvious one. After the first week, anyone can demand the answer.

So to start it off, let's go with something any Morrowind fan should be able to identify right away as a convenient perch to find one of the game's first sources of easy treasure.

Where am I?:

Are those by any chance the stables near Bruman?

ES Games: Played Arena BARELY, played Daggerfall until I traveled to the first town and the game broke, and am currently playing through Morrowind. Also played Skyrim a bit.

Question: Are all TES games fair game for this? It'd probably be better with only Morrowind through Skyrim.

Most locations in Arena/Daggerfall are entirely impossible to distinguish from any other. As for Battlespire/Redguard, there is essentially one location in both those games, so it would be too easy. So yes, stick to Morrowind through Skyrim, preferably.

Bruma, not Bruman, if memory serves. But you're close enough, your turn!

It looks like the entrance courtyard at the Thalmor Embassy. Don't remember there being two carriages there though.

So I understand we can only use vanilla locations, nothing added/altered by mods, right? What about official DLCs?

Official DLCs are obviously fine, but yes, we shouldn't be incorporating mods into this.

That would be the balcony of the temple (the Inner Sanctum) dedicated to Auri-El, located in the Forgotten Vale.
A pretty place, but a little dangerous with all the Falmer running around. And those dragons.

Ah, so that's where you were looking at it from. I haven't done Dawnguard in ages... Not properly, anyway. That's what happens when you spend a year or two trying figure out what in Dawnguard was causing the game to encounter constant C++ errors. I will never forgive Jiub. Something in his quest was doing it and I have no idea what.

Now... For the image:

Me again. Is it the pit at the start of Geirmund's Hall?

Nope. Geirmund's Hall isn't that deep.

I picked something more on the vague side, so I can give a hint if anybody needs it. In fact... I wrote a little poem for it. Not a good one, but it works.

My first thought was Darkfall Cave, for I can't remember any other plunge that deep in the game, but it doesn't quite fit. I have a feeling this could be from a POV you wouldn't usually see it from - thinking of one of those caves with a skylight which doesn't connect to the outside world and is only accessible by using tfc or tcl. Is that right?

Anyway, a poem is always appreciated!

Not even Darkfall Cave has as long of a drop. You fall one short distance into the water and keep going into another drop (I can't quite remember the specifics).

The shot I took is not one taken through the use of tfc or tcl. It is from the fall itself (see the hand in the bottom right corner). That drop is also present in vanilla Skyrim; it is not in one of the DLC locations.

I'll wait a while longer to post the poem. Otherwise I fear it'd be a dead giveaway.

Edit:
Since it has been a while...

High in snowy mountains cold,
In halls of ancient stonework bold,
Lies a trap of screeching, flying light,
Blinding all with glare so bright,
To those who dare this place I tell...
Beware, traveler, the plunge of _________.

Yes. That's exactly it, dzio. Your turn.

For those who haven't (assuming there are any) been there: go to Ansilvund and climb the mountain there. It'll take you to the little ruin. There isn't much on the outside or in the top level. Take the plunge and have fun in the little Falmer cave down below. It leads into Stony Creek Cave. Of course... You could always access it through Stony Creek Cave, but where's the fun in that?

Ah, that! No wonder I didn't get it - I only discovered it once and I'm not sure I ever cleared it, or if I did it was several characters' lifetimes ago. But IIRC it isn't accessible through Stony Creek: you can see it from the cave, beckoning and teasing, but you'd have to go up a waterfall to get there. (On PC you could obviously reach it by tcl, but as you say, where's the fun?)

PS.- Thanks to AKB for starting this! There was a thread like this in Skyrim General which, sadly, died about the time I joined, and it's nice to get to participate in this game after all that time.

No, you can hop your way up. It's a pain, but it's possible. I've done it before.
