for instance what do you guys think would be the outcome if say... hircine and mehrunes dagon decided to duke it out?

Clearly Mehrunes Dagon wins that battle, being the daedric prince of destruction.

actually, Daedric lords are fairly balanced when compared. Even Nocturnal has a similar amount of power to say..... Mehrunes Dagon

But a straight fight, I feel that the Prince of Destruction would have an edge over the Prince of the Hunt.

Oh hardly, they would even each other out. Because they both have counterbalancing strengths and weaknesses

Some are stronger than others, but it wouldn't amount to much. Boethiah, for example, is stronger than Peryite.

What if Hircine was hunting Dagon, surely he would then have the upper hand.

Azura, despite her seemingly benevolent nature seems like one of the stronger daedra on the scale as well. It may be because of the number of followers she has....

Boethia and Merhunes Dagon, that would be an awesome battle...

Peryite is the weakest of them all if I recall correctly.

I suppose it's up to their strengths and stuff. I'm sure that Nocturnal would have some sick magical power compared to the others. Sheogorath is simply so unpredicatble that he'd have the upper hand on surprise alone. Obviously some princes are more combat-oriented than others; Dagon, Hircine, and Malacath I bet would be good at that.
Hermaeus Mora would also have some serious magical power.
Others might just not even be that interested in duking it out with the others; Sanguine and Peryite, I suppose; and would find some way to take care of the others in some indirect way, like Boethiah or Vaermina.
Of course, this is all moot since I doubt the Daedric Princes would actually aim to kill each other. Can they even kill each other? Is it even possible for a Daedric Prince to die? I have a feeling that there's some kind of steady power balance set up there, and it seems like the Daedric Princes prefer to use their mortal subjects to mess with the mortal subjects of their enemies, instead of outright challenging their enemies.
Of course I'm not the most knowledgeable about this either.

Keep in mind, it might not be a battle as we would understand it, although that would factor in. It would be as much a war of ideas as anything, think of the Greymarch.

The greymarch is an internal conflict isn't it? Jyggalag WAS Sheogorath.

Yeah, it's Sheo and anti-Sheo who just happen to be the same person so it's really a non example...

Remember what Martin Septim said? "Mortal Weapons can't kill him." I believe that implies they can kill each other. Any way, it depends on what realm they are in honestly. If its in mundas, I suppose its anyones game.

Serious reply: Why would the Daedric Princes fight each other (more than they currently squabble from time to time, anyway)? I believe they do exist in some sort of balance, mentioned or implied, so that their dukin' it out against each other is a bit outlandish. They exist to cause chaos and change, and do a great deal of it just by annoying each other through their followers - which is pretty hilarious!

I would imagine some are slightly more powerful than others, but certain restraints might exist. You probably wouldn't have the same advantage in your foe's Daedric realm, and two might not be equally paired on Nirn. I'd be quite terrified if two Deadric Princes came to town just to rumble in the jungle, myself.

I agree with Avron, they wouldn't have a reason to fight, and even if they did, they would have their followers do it for them.

Apparently they do have cause to fight, it is why they cursed jyggalag with madness. He became too powerful and was a threat.

some princes are rivals like boethia and molag bal and in oblivion we have already seen that divine beings can have 1 on 1 fights. even though they may not die the princes can still feel pain.

Where did we see divine beings fight one on one? Akatosh vs Mehrunes Dagon? That's not Daedric prince vs Daedric prince
