Having a peruse around all the ES:O info I could find I decided I would start up a thread about what faction you guys will join, and what race you character will be (assuming you're only allowed one(probably more than one though considering there are three factions)). In case you haven't seen the factions:

Ebonheart Pact: This faction is located in Skyrim, Black Marsh and Morrowind, the race being Nords, Argonians and Dunmer, respectively.
Aldmeri Dominion: This faction is located in Summerset Isles, Valenwood and Elsweyr, the race being Altmer, Bosmer and Khajiit, respectively.
Daggerfall Convenant: This faction is located in High Rock, Hammerfell and Orsinium, the race being Bretons, Redguard and Orsimer, respectively.

Personally, I will be making an Ebonheart Pact Dunmer, I just love Dunmer, and to be honest my three favourite races are all on the same faction so i'm quite pleased.

Either Ebonheart Pact or Daggerfall Covenant, as I'm either making a Nord or Breton (assuming I'm not too cheap to buy the game.) Most likely a Breton, as I've always preferred mage over warrior.

One thing I have just noticed is that each faction has a noticeable warrior/mage/rogue divide in each faction: nord/dunmer/argonian for ebonheart, orc/breton/redguard (redguard could be possible stealth characters) for daggerfall, khajiit/altmer/bosmer for aldmeri.

I'm going to do what I always do. My main character is a female Breton -- a witch. :P That's all.

Ebonheart Pact, I think their the winners lore wise. Plus Morrowind is sweet.

Okay, I'm always Khajiit, how else would I get the chance to talk in the third person while RPing? :P

Altmer for me, I love them so.
Plus, I really want to see the Summerset Isles.

Aldmeri dominion with the altmer or ebonheart pact with dunmer, since morrowind my first character is always a dunmer being a mix of warrior and mage, thus I think the first will be the dunmer

I think I might do something completely different and be an Altmer or Bosmer.

I do hope multiple characters are possible though, because I want to be able to make multiple characters of multiple races and factions, as I always do.

I favour argonians, but really, what type of character I end up with will depend totally on how fun the gameplay is and choice of faction will be favoured by what faction has the least numbers (if I'm into PvP) and where my friends are going. Luckily I can stand playing khajiit and orcs too so it's still an open book.

Really hoping race doesn't lock in faction. Would really kill a bit of the game for me.

If I ever bought ES:O, I am still deciding depending on factors like price and availability in Australia, I will be making many charcters. If necromancy is in the game my very first character will be an Argonian necromancer, failing that I would go for an assassin. A Bosmer ranger will probably turn up somewhere, along with another Argonain, this time a mage, a female orc battlemage, a nord warrior, a redguard scout and one more Argonian archer. Pretty much I would recreate all my Skyrim characters.

This is all if you can create more than character.

I would probably have to go with the Aldmeri Dominion. Mainly because I love khajiits, but also because the three races are filled with some of the best races.

You have the altmer, the most pure mage.
You have the khajiit, the sneakiest backstabber.
You have the Bosmer, the archer.

It is just missing a Warrior. An Imperial, Nord, Redguard, Orsimer. Though, I don't think any of those would go with the Aldmeri Dominion.

Khajiit have a strong warrior culture, while not pure, it's in a similar fashion as Dunmer warriors being spellswords (aka a hybrid warrior ingrained in the culture)
We only ever see them as foreigners and only one subrace at a time...I hope we get to actually see Dagi or Cathay subrace variants...

I think that if we went to their homeland, we would have to see their variants. Not everyone is born under the same moon there. (Opposed to Cyrodil and Skyrim, where they are all of the same)

Do you think we would get a choice of which variant we could be?

Unlikely, but I could see them possibly giving us a choice of some of the subraces beyond Suthay-raht, such as Dagi-raht and Cathay (specifically) that would be reskinned Bosmer and Orcs respectively.
Ohmes would also be a possibility, but it all depends on the level of detail their character creation system has and how ambitious the team is.

Worst case scenario: Suthay-raht only with resized khajiit models for subrace npcs (Not even having anything representing the other subraces just isn't an option here if they want to hold any legitimate claim to following lore)

I'm torn between Orcs and Dunmer. I have good character concepts and ideas for both, but I just can't decide. Having just watched the E3 TES:O Stage Show, however. . I noticed that the Orc is remarkably bulkier than other races. I really hope it's just a character build you can choose.

I'll probably have to go with the Dagerfall Covenant as they seem the most reasonable with a government similar to a democracy. For my race I will go with a Redgaurd because I enjoy their adventurous nature.

Don't think I'll ever get to play the game but I will probably pick the Aldmeri Dominion just for the Hell of it.
