Water, but only sort of? Clouds, perhaps?

As far as I can recall, there are only two Ayleid Ruins that have entrances like that... One starts with a K, and one starts with an S. Which one it is... Well, I'm not going to guess. Consider it an unofficial hint. A hint that might be wrong, but... Hey. I haven't played Oblivion in a while. ESO is too entertaining.

It's either clouds or mist. I took this back in February and can't remember the exact details.
Nice visual effect though, I thought.

Where in Skyrim might this be? Press the tab and you shall see! Guess it if you think you know. If it's right then it's your go!

Ha ha! I know! I had just posted in the trivia thread, so I blame that.

Btw, my pic is not a named location, but there are lots of places nearby (one very prominent one).

Well that look a lot like vaermina towers (i think i got the name right) and the ruin is the one where you help the mage find her family scroll or something like that. Thats what they look like anyway

'Near' and 'Far'? What is Near? What is Far? It is all relative to M'aiq.

You are right about the two places. Like Timster (or M'aiq) said, I suppose it depends on what you class as near or far. I wouldn't say that where I am standing in the picture is near The Pale, even though the Tower that you can see resides in that hold.

Seeing as you got the two landmarks correct, any guesses as to what places/things might be right near the photo spot?

I'll take an educated guess. I couldn't find the exact spot, but I think you're somewhere around the Dainty Sload.

I really wanted to do an ESO one... but I'm not to the recognizable parts of EP yet and Cyrodiil is a deathtrap (even if it weren't completely different). Alas.

Hopefully this one is easy enough:

That's the Black Waterside Stables outside Cheydinhal.

Wherever it is, it works great as an abstract painting, if you squint just a wee bit.

If I don't squint, however, and if my eyes don't play tricks on me I think I can see Rift trees and a lake in the background, so maybe... somewhere around Arcwind Point?
