It looks more like the road to Skingrad to me. Don't know the name of the ruin, though. I know Seryna went through there at one point, but... It was probably close to 100 or so hours of gameplay ago. Which would be several months for me.

Thanks for the hint, Mauin! It's indeed on the road to Skingrad, but it's not an Ayleid ruin at all, it's just these two arches standing there in the forest, right behind the entrance to Greenmead Cave (i.e. Lady S. is probably standing on top of the little hillock with the door in it). Tricky Timster!

(The ruin you meant, Mauin, was perhaps Ceyatatar, it's just across the road and a little bit further north.)

Exactly. Greenmead Cave - and Ceyatatar (or "See ya, 'taters" as I tend to call it) is just up the road.

If you look closely you can see the little 'island' in the road. That was one of the first things to catch my eye when I saw the map of Cyrodiil, though I was a little disappointed to discover it was just a bunch of trees.

Over to you, FW

Thanks! I have an Oblivion screenshot from some cave in or ruin, but I forgot to label it and after a few days I've plain forgotten where it was, so back to Skyrim we go for now:

Where's this?

(Btw I managed to unearth my Morrowind disc and it still runs fine after all these years! Now for modding it - I've never played Morrowind with mods, this is going to be fun; downloading MGSO 3.0 as I write, if I get it installed correctly (which seems to be non-trivial compared to modding Skyrim) there may be Morrowind pics soon....ish.

Maybe that was it. I can't remember. My brain really isn't working right now. The name does sound familiar, though.

That looks like the Shrine (of Mara? Very appropriate on Valentine's Day  ) that you can get to either by heading west from Volunruud or north up a mountain path from that Bandit Ruin with the Lunar Forge thing in it.

However it doesn't look quite 'right', so maybe I am wrong or perhaps you are using some mod that alters the perspective of your view in a weird way? Also the weather has always been in Extreme Winter Mode whenever I've been there. No nice blue sky for me.

Post it anyway! I would be Officially Surprised (with an appropriate emoticon and everything) if we couldn't sort it out.

It's the very same shrine. I may have fiddled a bit with the FOV in the console - I usually play with it set to around 80, this may be 90-100, which would explain any perspectival weirdness. The blue sky is probably due to the weather mod I use, Pure Weathers, but I often get nasty weather thereabouts too. Anyway, next round is yours!

Also, hors de concours and for everybody to help me remember where I took it,
Where is this?

Dunno how much you'll be able to see, but there's a boat in the foreground and a dead tree on the rock ledge in the background.

Looks like 'Sideways Cave' to me.

Next up:

Yep, thank you, Sideways Cave it is! The first dungeon I explored with my current Oblivion character, two weeks ago and already forgotten...

As for yours, I think I know where (and when) that is, but I don't have a suitably non-obvious picture right now, so maybe someone else would like to try for it.

Gosh, I was so far off the track - I actually thought it was the Temple of the One at the end of Oblivion. Goes to show how long it's been since I had a look at the place! But when I saw Emzi's answer I knew it had to be correct.

^ When you mentioned 'where and when' I did wonder where you might be thinking of. All good fun! :D

Anyways, 3 days have been and gone, so here's an easy one to get things moving again:

Easy? Ok, it's on a mountain or hill top, it looks Dwemerish but it isn't a lift or entrance to anywhere, and it faces south. I've a vague feeling it could be somewhere on Solstheim, but that's probably wrong and I'm utterly clueless otherwise.

I think it's the Dwemer structure up the slope from Ironbind Overlook.

It is indeed!

Okay Zephyr - it is your go:
Do you have a pic for everyone to have a guess at?

@Finn:
It's near the mountain peak between Wayward Pass and the 'Mount Anthor' Word Wall.

Hey,

No, 'under the bridge outside Markarth' is incorrect.

But you are on the right track...

I think it's, howdyoucallit, where the stream that runs through Markarth comes out under the city walls. The bridge Beta meant is visible in the background.

Correct! The view is from under Markarth city wall - in an outlet area for the stream.

Over to you.

(This is incorrect though: "The bridge Beta meant is visible in the background."
That actually is what looks like some kind of Dwemer 'flood defence' walling, the bridge is further down.)

I stand corrected. (Nice choice of location btw.)

MGE won't let me take any screenshots in Morrowind, and in Oblivion the weather has been horrible all day, prompting my character to stay indoors, so we're staying in Skyrim for now.

Where's this?

Might have to use another program for Morrowind screenshots, then. Most people would probably use fraps (if that even works for screenshots... I can't remember). My PC has MSI Afterburner on it, so I just use that with non-Steam games.

Anyway, that's the little Nordic thingy in the hills above Largashbur and Darklight Tower.

In that spot. It has a troll. And a chest, I think.
