I'm still on the fence on which one to get, I'm leaning more towards the 360. Tell me if you guys agree or not.

360- I'd be able to play on a 47" TV with Surround sound. Kick back on the couch and play. Only bad side is when my wife wants to watch TV I can't play.

Computer- I'm not sure to what extent I'll be able to run it but I can play oblivion on max and I read with the engine if you can play Oblivion this wont be much different. It's only on a 22" screen though. I don't do much modding as I like to play the game for how it was designed. + to the PC I can play whenever because it's my PC.

Thoughts or suggestions please!!!

The PC is by far the superior platform. You can sit comfortably, have better graphics, superior controls (I'm biased about this) and mods.

Even though Screen size is 10x bigger and surround sound? Only way I'd get PC is if I know I can run at max settings. I'm hoping since I can with Oblivion I will be able to with skyrim

I would say 360 if you aren't going to get into mods.

If you have a multicore then there shouldn't be a problem. About the sound: I prefer headphones. No unrelated noises. The size of the screen...meh, I don't really care about it. It's too far away for me anyway.

Hmm... Well, I have Oblivion for both, and in my experience the 360 feels more natural to play in my opinion.

Oh, and don't get one on each platform. I did, and I rarely play on PC, because I got the 360 version first.

Eh, 47",Surround Sound and a couch versus 22",probably a headphone/poor speakers and a little spinny chair? I'd go for the Xbox for obvious reasons.

The only other option for me would be hooking up the PC to the TV(only if the PC has HDMI output; VGA can take a flying jump at the moon) and by using a PC compatible Xbox controller. Also,PC hardware that delivers graphics that surpass the 360's would be another requirement.

Depends on what platform you prefer. I'll get it for PC, no doubt, mostly because I think the controls are better with a keyboard+mouse. I suck at aiming in first person with a hand controller.
Something that's better with consoles is that you don't have to worry about not being able to play on highest graphics (which I personally don't really care about, graphics doesn't matter much to me), you (probably) have a much larger screen. You can sit comfortably in a sofa or whatever.

If graphics are important to you, you don't care for mods, you like playing with a controller, while chilling in a sofa in front of a widescreen TV; then get it on the 360.

I for one think mods can be fun to mess around with, I like the controls on a PC, don't care about graphics, don't have a TV that would justify such a (hopefully) great game, and PC is my absolute favorite gaming platform; so I'll get it for PC.

Mods are fun, but you can never be sure of all the problems the Computer has, I.E. lag.

A decent computer isn't that expensive any more. I mean, you can get 6GB of RAM for $75.

So if you can, PC, play it vanilla, then mod it to no end.

6GB of RAM is obsolete at the moment. Most laptops have 4GB of RAM,more than enough to meet any game's RAM requirement. The real issues are the CPU and the cards .That's where the numbers start going into the hundreds.

You can get a brand new, decent gaming PC for 500-600 Euro. They really aren't that expensive.

I was using 6GB as an example because I have 12 now.

Any way, if you find a weekend job, and save up. You can get something half decent.

I'd go console. I'll be on the PS3. I played Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind all on PC. Now days having a big screen and being able to sit back in a recliner and game for hours, I think is far better. Sure you can run your PC through your TV (which is what I do now, using HDMI) But I have become such a console fan. If I were on PC I'd want to mod the crap out of it and I know I'd end up with a broken messed up game.

For both Morrowind and Oblivion this is what I did: first get it on a console and play till it's old hat, then many years later get it for PC near the end of its cycle (before the next ES game) to relive the magic and enjoy the mods.

Someone answer me this: Can I buy the PC version and just plug in my 360 controller to the USB port and play it with the 360 controller?

Only reason I would get the 360 version, is for the controller. To me, it's a better feel and more natural. But I'd prefer the PC version for graphics. If I can use the 360 controller on the PC, then hell... I'd get the PC version and rock and roll.

Possible?

Yes it's possible.

Not easy though.

Will the means to do so be readily available at launch? Or does it have to be custom?

You don't think Bethesda will enable the 360 controller on the PC version?

Yeah, this is exactly what I will do.

Just hoping I can plug the 360 controller in the PC and start "the adventure of my life in the land of Skyrim!"

It's possible. You need a USB cord that hooks up to the controller for setup, but I'm not sure if you need it for actually using it.

If your not a complete graphics [&@%!] and cant tell much difference between max PC settings and a console's graphics like me then go for Xbox, plus modding may be included for console's, don't count on it though.

Most modern big PC games let you use a 360 controller as a matter of course, I'm about 99.5% sure Skyrim will allow it to, particular as the new UI seems to be designed in mind for being easy to use with any interface.

And even if not, there is always Xpadder, best friend to people who like to play PC games with a controller.
