I've heard far more people pronounce it "morrow-ind" as in the second part of "to-morrow". So less "more-oh" and more "mahr-o".

Hlaalu [H-LAY-AH-LOO] (soft "H" is forgivable)

I've only ever heard it pronounced "lahlu".

REDORAN [RED-OR-ON]

More like red-oh-ran.

With Hlaalu, always took in consideration that its Dunmer in origin, effectively Elvish and the Elvish language is typically rather elaborate. Redoran, I should have used [RED-OH-RAHN] instead. That's more along how I say it. Well, all the Houses (active in Morrowind) are Dunmer in origin. But anywho, I think most will just say whatever is easiest for themselves or pay no mind to their slaughtering of common words like fatigue (you feta-gew people). But always willing to make a collaborative effort.

Yeah, that's how I've usually heard it pronounced.

I wonder if there's an official pronunciation guide somewhere...

They pronounce Ysmir "Eez-mere" in Skyrim, I believe.

I've heard Michael Kirkbride pronounce Daedra out loud (can't say where and how, but I'm not makin' it up or fanboying out. Just objectively stating this), and he says "Dee-druh." That's just one dude's opinion though. He also later went on to say "Say things however you want." In the actual games it's pronounced multiple ways, which reflects words in the real world as well.

I think the WUUTH is pronounced more in Wuuthrad. That seems to make more sense to me.

Chim is actually more like Kyme..again, from the horse's mouth. Of course he also pronounces Dunmer as "Doon-MARE" which sounds nothing at all like how any NPC ever pronounces it, so again... his (Strong) opinion but not gospel. (Didn't actually hear these, but saw him kinda spell them out in an old forum post once)

I think Redoran is more exactly how it looks. I see no reason to assume the as makes an uhn sound.

I thought this thread was about how we personally pronounce names of things, not the objective (or even conventional) truth of the matter?

In any case I bow to your superior lore-fu, Pilaf.

Nah..I'm not trying to say my way is right or anything. Just that I heard someone pronounce them that way, who might have originated one or two of the words or at least been part of a think tank that did.

Of course, I've heard other examples of people who pronounced things a certain way, then heard another way and preferred that one. For instance apparently some of the Devs pronounce "Tsaesci" very literally, or other ones say "Zay see" in a sort of Asian accent. I personally say "Shay-shee" or "Say-shee". I think it sounds cooler.

Daedra - DA-EEDRA
Vivec - VI-VEHK
Azura - A-ZUU-RAH
Boethiah - BU-EE-THYA
CHIM - KHIM
Morrowind - MO-ROW-WIND
Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer, Dwemer, Falmer - DUUN-MER, ALT-MER, BOSS-MER, DWY-MER, FAHL-MER; all emphasis on the -MER, which is pronounced short and hard
Tsaesci - TSA-ESI
Akavir - AH-KA-VIIR (emphasis on -VIIR)
YSMIR - IS-MEER
Almalexia - AL-MA-LEXIAH (LEXIAH spoken as one syllable)

Trying to write my pronunciations down phonetically is difficult, as they're colored notably by my foreign background. It's interesting to see the differences between us all.
