That's what the rumor says, yes.

Ah God I need NEWS. I find myself daydreaming idly in class about possibilities for the next Elder Scrolls game... Or drawing pictures on lined paper when I should be taking notes... Or planning out how my character(s) are going to be (personality, equipment, etc.)... I've even had a couple of Elder Scrolls DREAMS lately. It's getting pretty serious. :(

How EPIC would it be if Bethesda just decided to release a screenshot or something? Ahhh!

I just wish we'd get updates. I mean, we knew it was coming out in 2010 in like October of 2008, and we had guessed around then before. Yet we have absolutely no updates about the game. I'm getting annoyed as I have nothing to get overly excited about

My guess is that Bethsheda is not saying much about part 5 so it doesnt generate too much hype.

The game of Two Worlds did this and the game bombed out when it was released.

The video game stores in the area that I live, actually had to refund almost 75% of the sales that it generated on its release date.

I was one of those saps that bought the game and regretted it, immediately.

Interesting, I never played Two Worlds, but it seems like one heck of a good game.

Anyways, it IS about time we get updates. We are like 18 months tops away from the release, and yet no screenie or anything. I think even Fallout had that SS with the Lone Wanderer and Dogmeat by this time.

I also know there will definitely be news by E3, but that's too far away. =/

I dunno about that... I can't see the game coming out before September 2010, and frankly I expect it in Spring 2011. They have never officially stated that they expect the game to be published in 2010. There have been one or two unofficial comments from Bethesda reps saying that they were aiming for 2010, but that's really just conjecture. I'll be really happy if it comes out in 2010, but none of us should get hung up if it doesn't come out until 2011.

Fallout 3 was released on 10/28/2008. In February of 2007, Bethesda said that Fallout 3 was "a fairly good ways away" and that more information would be revealed in the coming months. A teaser site for F2 was opened in early May of 2007, and it contained music and early concept art from the game. The first trailer was launched on 6/5/2007, almost 17 months before the October 2008 release. The second trailer was launched on 7/12/2007, 15.5 months before the release.

In other words, *if* they are really gearing towards a 2010 release, it seems likely that they will at least say something about the game soon. They won't release the game later than mid-November, meaning the time line for F3 should be a good indicator of the time line for TESV. If they are aiming toward a late 2010 (October/November) release, we should hear some news in the next couple of months (even if it's relatively slim). If we don't hear anything between now and, say, July, I think it's safe to say we shouldn't expect the game until 2011, probably around the same time of the year as Oblivion came out (March/April 2011) -- if not even later.

If we don't get any news at all by the end of the summer (mid/late August) I'll be quite surprised. If this is the case, don't expect TESV until mid-2011 at the earliest.

Yes, that is true. But from what I've seen lately from Bethesda, they usually keep their deadlines the best they can.

I don't give it any more than April or May 1011. They wouldn't postpone a gamerelease an entire year. I think

If they do release it that late in 2010 I would easily aim at Late October and not Christmas time.

Nice update for me, we all know there are always surprises on the E3, I'm hoping to get one from the ES team.

Bethesda has two booths at E3 this year. However, they have never been known to announce a new game at a major convention. With Oblivion and Fallout 3 (and I believe Morrowind, although I'm not sure) they announced them through gaming magazines (I believe GameInformer in those cases). If they plan on using one of their E3 booths to talk about TESV in some sort of capacity, they'll probably announce it sometime before E3, meaning either this month, or May.

Somehow I'm not very optimistic about that happening. I could see them mentioning TESV in passing at E3 ("Work on TESV is coming along," "We have a very big project we're currently working on, but I can't say much about it right now," "Expect to hear something big in the coming weeks/months," etc.).

I expect we'll have something solid by the end of the summer (meaning an official announcement, concept art, maybe an early build screenshot, or a bit of background info). I hope for an announcement of some sort by E3, but I wouldn't be overly upset if we didn't get one until July or August. If we haven't got any news by the end of September I'll start getting concerned.

As for final release dates, I'm starting to become convinced it won't be out until Spring 2011 (two years from now). The absolute earliest I can see it coming out is October 2010, and if they can't push it out by November I doubt we'll see it until February 2011 at the earliest, more likely March or April. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't come out til summer 2011, like maybe June.

Of course I'd love to get my hands on it in Fall 2010. I'm just saying it would be a bit unrealistic, especially if we still haven't got any news by the time E3 has passed.

D4rk, you had already posted the same thing.

Anyhow, one of the booths is probably for rogue warrior. I heard they were also making a new game... But I dunno.
