Competition of the Month - August Summer Costume Contest!

Welcome one and all to the Competition of the Month!

These monthly competitions are a chance for you to demonstrate your creativity and talents while getting a chance to know your fellow members and have a little fun. Each month is going to have a different theme and a different talent – and maybe a surprise or two! But only one member can wear the purple coins and fancy title of CotM Winner! Do you have what it takes?

The basic rules are as follows:

This month's challenge is to spice up your avatar with a Summer theme!

It's August now, and for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, it's Summertime! Before the leaves start turning golden, the weather starts to become more wild, and the winds of change signal the arrival of Autumn, let us celebrate the warmest season of the year by adorning yourself with an avatar that shows the season!
You can alter your current avatar - add a cocktail or a pair of sunglasses, etc, or you can don a new one.
So, in summary - whether your avatar is Summery by itself, or made Summery by you, if it reeks of Summer - you can wear it!

Our schedule for the August event is as follows:
August 3-24: Competition begins! Start planning and send in those submissions!
August 25-30: Voting period – vote for your favorites!
August 30: Our winner is announced!
Please note that all times are determined by me, Aarah, and therefore will run according to Greenwich Mean Time (Click here if you’re unsure when, exactly, that is!)

Remember that the CotM is not possible without you, so please participate, contribute, discuss, and vote!

Daphne is down for Summer! She's put on her pink (slightly wonky!) sunglasses, taken off that green scarf, and changed to a short-sleeved top. Now she's down to the beach to solve a mystery with the rest of the gang!

My golem's internal fans have been set to "high" instead of "medium-high". This is poorly represented in the GIF.

In any case, here it is -- the laziest, most half-assed attempt at a COTM I've ever done, and that's saying a lot because I've never seriously attempted them.

If you are able to, having it actively set is preferable so people can admire your costume.

It's nothing. I'd just have to screw with the image some in an image editor to reduce the quality of it. Those archaic "it must be horribly low res and smaller than 35kb" requirements are just annoying me, because like with 99% of my image uploading attempts, I'm just a few kbs over the size limit, a few pixels over the dimensions specified for images, and the website doesn't want to auto-adjust it to scale because of the file size being too large or something.

I think the chief needs to get on updating that eventually.

Originally, i was going to do a dragon in a bikini but apparently, that is against all logic and crime against the eyes of all users. So I elected to try to have a cake in a bikini to wind up Beta. Apparently, that is both against the forum rules and against all laws of nature.

So instead, here is what we brits have to put up.

I'll might revise this later on, but here's the Feraligatr King, non Mega Evolved, at a beach with some [&@%!] sunglasses and crown. It needs work, but this is something I can actually participate in, no matter how poorly. It requires less effort than usual.
