Competition of the Month - June Weather Edition!

Welcome one and all to the Competition of the Month!

These monthly competitions are a chance for you to demonstrate your creativity and talents while getting a chance to know your fellow members and have a little fun. Each month is going to have a different theme and a different talent – and maybe a surprise or two! But only one member can wear the purple coins and fancy title of CotM Winner! Do you have what it takes?

The basic rules are as follows:

This month is a photography contest.
For many of us, the weather's finally turned nice, the trees have grown fresh leaves, flowers are blooming, and all sorts of critters are out and about. Perfect weather for a photo! Take your best outdoor photograph and show us what the world looks like around you right now!

Our schedule for the June event is as follows:
June 1: Competition begins! Start planning and send in those submissions!
June 25-29: Voting period – vote for your favorites!
June 30: Our winner is announced!
Please note that all times are determined by me, Alarra, and therefore will run according to GMT -6/Central Standard Time. (Click here if you’re unsure when, exactly, that is!)

Remember that the CotM is not possible without you, so please participate, contribute, discuss, and vote!

Summer time means dirtbike time! The grass is nice and green and so forth, and dirt bikes are ripping up the nice little "track" around Dad's 8 acres of farmhouse and surrounding land.

Hell [&@%!]' no!

I can't ride for [&@%!], and going really fast scares the living... livingness out of me. I love to work on bikes and get my hands dirty, but I don't ride. That's my old man on his bike. I was the one getting sprayed with dirt to hold a camera close to the turn to get a cool looking photo.

Not the best quality but I took this picture of the sky on my University campus about a year ago. The sky can be so beautiful at sunset!

Here's mine. June is great weather to visit the ducks and geese along the river, especially since many of them have young. The geese are a bit mean, but the ducks are pretty laid-back.

Jeancey, they are! I took them on my vacation to central Washington (okay okay, it wasn't in June, but the weather was nice).

Congrats to the winners. I am infuriated I forgot to enter. I spent so long stalking my local bird population to get good photos, and I forgot to submit them due to how much fun that was. Side note, did you know a baby swan is called a "cygnet"? That's what you learn, watching birds, I guess.
