These monthly competitions are a chance for you to demonstrate your creativity and talents while getting a chance to know your fellow members and have a little fun. Each month is going to have a different theme and a different talent – and maybe a surprise or two! But only one member can wear the purple coins and fancy title of CotM Winner! Do you have what it takes?

The basic rules are as follows:


New Years Greetings!
For the January edition of the CotM we decided to use the theme of things becoming new. With January 1st came a new year, new challenges, new possibilities, and maybe even a new you! We want you to take that spirit of refreshing and newness and apply it to the UESP logo! What would you do to change it? Make little tweaks or start from scratch, the choice is yours! Show off your artistic side and make a new logo for your favorite ES-themed forums!

Disclaimer: This competition is just for fun. Winners should not expect their logos to be used in any official capacity.

Our schedule for the End-Of-Year Holiday event is as follows:
January 8: Competition begins! Start planning and send in those submissions!
Jan 25-30: Voting period – vote for your favorites!
Jan 31: Our winner is announced!
Please note that all times are determined by me, Musicman247, and therefore will run according to GMT -6/Eastern Standard Time. (Click here if you’re unsure when, exactly, that is!)

Remember that the CotM is not possible without you, so please participate, contribute, discuss, and vote!

Should I make it the same aspect ratio as the current one, or does this not matter?

This logo needs to be viewed large (it's no good as a small logo, as the quality is not great), so hopefully it comes out ok!

Pweese vote for me! The uesp letters are made up of 13 elder scrolls items, from Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim!

And look at the elder scroll at the top! Ooooo, shiny!

Yeah... both your and Aarah's entries look like they took a lot of time and effort to make. I don't understand why Kerr's is winning; I mean, it was a joke entry, right?

I don't think the community here is a joke. I just don't see why anyone would vote for Kerr's when the other two options are serious.

The Competition of the Month is done for fun. Some entries have a lot of effort put into it and some don't. I virtually put no effort into last month's comptetion and won due to people liking the result. It just comes down to people voting for what they like and as i've said, is done for fun.

Couldn't have say it any better myself Dov Some people literally put their heart and soul into an entry, but the basis of this is to have fun.

I for one have done an entry or two were I spent nights preparing it, yet never once did I fully believe I would win. Why? Bc it's a game and should be regarded lightly. I did it, not bc I wanted to win, but bc I wished to partake in the fun. The purpose of the event is that literally anybody could win, and is not strictly govern by talent. If it truly was only govern by talent.. many may very well feel discouraged to partake, shunned that their talents are novice, and that the coins could only ever be a dream..

There is no bad or good entry, it is purely an opportunity to showcase your style of uniqueness, and contribute to an open, fair, and welcoming community. All entries are upon the same level, and he who merely wins the purple coins, only won by favor and luck given by the community itself. Hopefully we can put this behind us, and for future instances please make note of the rules

So far, I see three wonderful entries, but then again I can only vote for one, and my die has already been cast

The point of my post is being missed. I am not angry that I am not receiving votes.
I am angry because in every art-based COTM I've experienced, stolen content or art that had nearly no effort put into it has won.

Also, your claim is not entirely correct. Check out the CotM Hall of Fame! Thanks and just have fun with it!

It is up to members to decide what they use for their entries and how much effort they put into it. As i've said, some put virtually no effort in, some put a lot in and it just comes down to people liking the entry or not. If the COTM was turned into something that everyone had to come up with an original thing, it would put a fair amount off. But at the end of the day, it's all about having fun.

I think I'm going to award Tezilov's entry the title of: "Most likely to actually be used, if we were to use any of these".

If we have a 3 way tie does that mean we all get the coins? Because that would be cool.

Also my entry:
1. Did take longer than 5 seconds to come up with and produce. It took 15 whole minutes!
2. Yes, it's a joke. That's the point.

Also you need a looser definition of art. Art is more than just paintings and sculptures.

The previous tie saw both winners get purple coins, so I suppose it would be the same for a three-way tie.

Okay, one more person vote for Aarah and then nobody vote.

Yeh, a 3 way tie would be cool! There'd be a little troop of purple coiners!
