Come one, come all! It's time for the Competition of the Month - mini edition!

These monthly competitions are a chance for you to demonstrate your creativity and talents while getting a chance to know your fellow members and have a little fun. Each month is going to have a different theme and a different talent – and maybe a surprise or two!

The basic rules are as follows:


Because this is the month of Skyrim (silence, ye heavenly choirs!), not everyone will have time to dedicate to a month long competition, since we'll be drooling over our keyboards and controllers. What? That's just me? Oh, well, that aside... So welcome to the first ever mini CotM!

Halloween was Monday, October 31. Traditionally one celebrates by carving pumpkins, eating candy, and putting on a great costume. So UESP, show us a picture of your Halloween costume, and maybe the boards will determine that you are the best of the best! Please put your photo behind a spoiler, provided it is sized appropriately (no huge photos, please!) or include it in a link to a photo website. If you cannot yet post links, please go to our new users thread to see how to fix this!

Our schedule for the November mini event is as follows:
November 1 - November 24: Competition begins! Show us your photos!
November 25: Voting starts.
November 30: Our winner is announced!
Please note that all times are determined by me, Avron the S’wit, and therefore will run according to GMT -4/Eastern Standard Time. (Click here if you’re unsure when, exactly, that is!)

You can check right here! When a CotM is over each thread is moved to The Arts subforum of the General Discussion part of UESP, so you can always go back and look over everyone's past work.

Did no one dress up for Halloween? I am disappointed, UESP!

Bah. You forget that Halloween isn't as big in other parts of the world as it is in the US. Perhaps it's celebrated to a higher degree in other European countries, but here in Sweden it's mostly a thing for kids - if even that. Though considering the only contribution so far is a guy in a cardboard box, perhaps I might qualify with this:

Sorry Avron, I appologize for making the suggestion for the competition, I did know that since it was my suggestion, nobody would participate.

No worries, Jeff! Everyone is just too excited about Skyrim. I always appreciate your suggestions the same as everyone else's!

Besides, looks like we might have a tie between two perfectly great costumes in this thread.

No, the monk costume is better. Mine is more crudely made. And, didn't you look at the pictures I posted, Frostmage? I was Asian in those pictures.

I was just thinking of the whole concept of Halloween the other day. So we dress up in costumes, go from door to door demanding candy, and this is all normal?

By the way Avron, when do we get to see *your* halloween custome?

I like everyone's costumes so far!

I was myself for Halloween, and seeing as how I'm already a battleship commander, I don't think I could ever top it, really.

Thank you very much! And thanks for linking it before the mod! Uhm if you want a costume for yourself I can make you one. I sew very fast and can custom make clothing provided I have your measurements, you'll need to measure in a certain way. However because I'm working on a few other orders ((namely my boyfriend's shirts and I found a tutorial for a hoop skirt)) I'm busy until a few days after 11/11/11 ((I have reserved time to play Skyrim like we all have <3)) I do my clothing patterns in a certain way so they fit much better than standard store bought patterns or measurements taken a different way. Otherwise you can find someone on etsy.com Or make a request on http://forum.deviantart.com/jobs/offers/


Thank you very much! The cutting of the fabric took longer than the sewing, there is nearly 70 pieces in that dress! Also with help from OblivionDurza I have applied to that group think so hopefully I can post links without the spaces soon
