Hey, any Xbox players out there?

I'm looking for folk to add to me friends list so if anyone is interested in sharing their profile, stick it up here!

(I've not actually made a Live account yet so don't have a profile atm, but do intend to do so.)

Gamertag: S Carver Orne (the same as my username here but with spaces.

I'm usually on the One nowadays, but I still have my 360. And a lot of 360 games are backwards compatible on the One.

I have...acquired an Xbox One, so I can now add you properly.
(The 4GB 360 is just too small, memory wise, to do anything on).

I'd be interested to hear how you got on with your One. Does the Backwards Compatibility work okay? My 360 is on its last legs and... atm I'm thinking I'll just get another 360. I don't know. Should prob head down to Argos and pick one up (a 360 that is) while they still have them in I suppose.

My GamerTag is also the same as my forum username. I don't have a Gold subscription yet though so if you're wanting people for co-op then I'm not "your guy".

It's been really good.

Yeah, the backwards compatibility works fine. You just put in your 360 disc and then it directs you to the store where you download the game to the console. Then you just pop in the disc as normal whenever you play again.

I was in two minds whether to go One or stay 360, but the thing that swayed it for me was that a lot of games I was interested in were exclusive to the One, and there's nothing 'new' for the 360.

Games with Gold is also pretty snazzy. You get some good free games each month with that, and you'd double your freebies in having the new console.

I don't have a gold subscription atm either, but I'm liking a look of two of the games in the Gold Games this month, especially The Turing Test, and one game alone, if bought, would cost you more than a three month gold subscription.
(Another big factor was that my 360 is an older model and doesn't have a wifi connector built in, so no xbox live at all).

I don't know if you have a budget, but I reckon with Christmas coming near, and the new Xbox One X console coming out in November, you'd probably be able to snag a good deal in the upcoming months, if you are interested in upgrading to the One S.
(Atm it's not that much more than the cost of the Argos 360 too.)

Cool, I'll add your Gamertag. Ya never know.

When I play Original Xbox games on the 360 the frame-rate isn't smooth - it does a little hop and skip every so often (technical terms, sry.) The number of times Buffy has fallen into a lava pit because of the wobbly emulator... :( Also I think some of the cut-scenes don't work properly.

I was wondering if you'd noticed 360 games on the One maybe running worse than they do on the 360.

I have an old-style 360 also. Was an 'Arcade' 360 originally, then I got a memory stick because honestly who thought an Xbox with 256MB storage was a good idea? Then a 20GB Hard Drive. No wifi though so I need to trail an ethernet cable across the lounge for XBL access.

The thing is Kingdoms of Amalur, one of my top Xbox games, is still not on the bc list. So I have to weigh one definitely awesome game on the 360 against the many possibly awesome games on the One...

Decisions, decisions... :S

Super! :D I look forward to some jolly cooperation at some point in the future then - as long as you promise not to swipe all the phat loot I've been collecting in my Terraria base, that is. :p

I've not really played much with 360 games on the One. I've played some Oblivion and Alan Wake, but they've both been fine: no different in how they run than the older console.

256MB? Gees, and I thought 4GB was bad.

That's a shame the KoA isn't bc. It's certainly quite a big consideration when changing consoles, if you've got games that you love that aren't bc. And it's not like you can just say "well, i'll just plug in my 360 if I want to play those ones", because your old console has seen its day.

If you really fancied the One, I suppose you could get a good second hand 360 and a SH or new One. Though even SH the two together would be a bit pricey.

Decisions indeed.

I've never played Terraria, but if I had, I would definitely promise not to steal your phat loot.
Though I make no such promises about hiding it for lols. :D
