...because the Xbox 360 and PS3 are pretty sweet, but some of us like to have fun on the ol' PC, especially Steam. If you use it, you love it, and you want to hang out with your UESP peers on it, use this thread. Share your username with us, what you think is amazing, if you're trying to get a game going and need some pals, whether you have any technical questions, and other lovely things.

Announcing the unofficial but official and pretty neat UESP Forums Steam group!

What is Steam? - Steam is a computer-based module that works as a digital store for games, allowing you to buy and download a wide variety of video games right from your computer - no discs necessary! You then have easy access to a digital library and can play games through Steam or right off of your desktop. It also has a Friends feature that allows you to chat with your pals. So want to make friends with some UESPers off the forums? Here's another chance!

My account is ParadiseBlues. My actual screen name right now is Race For The Priiize, but I'll probably change it back to ParadiseBlues soon. At the moment I'm only really chatting and playing Morrowind, but I'll do Team Fortress 2 with anyone (no voice chat, ever) as soon as I get good with any class that isn't the Sniper.

I just got back into TF2 because of the free thing and I realised it wasn't 9Gb I had to update, it was only 1Gb :lol:

I should like to play with you guys at some point when I'm not too busy (as I know it will be a long and epic battle of titans!)

That's just my display name. My account name is tom10320, but I sometimes change the display nickname to match whatever in-joke is currently in vogue, and you can do the same if you so wish. I won't hurt you, don't worry. Tommunism is a benign system.

So what is everyone playing now: TF2? How's that going? Should we get a UESP game going?

I don't quite understand how Steam works. I haven't bought a game yet. I've only downloaded TF2 which is free so I still can't add friends. But can I participate in multiplayer matches?

Mine is Blackstirian. I've been seeing The Tommunist playing a lot of TF2 and Portal 2.

I believe you can still accept friend requests. Multiplayer matches should work too...I think.

This was answered already, but to add: basically Steam is just a client for you to buy and download games digitally, without needing a physical copy - everything else is pretty much the same. You can play them online, upload mods, what have you. The friends part is just for kicks. :wink:
