Alright.

I shall tell you the Story of Dogmantra's Steam.
First, I bought Portal at the behest of a friend. I played it, and it was probably one of the most enjoyable two hours' time of my life. I decided I liked Valve. I then bought TF2. Even more fun because of the replay value. Then I wanted to play Half Life 2, but it cost £18 off Steam. I bought the Orange Box from my local Game, which cost only £15! Less money for more games... That is weird, no?

Anyway... I think I'll be on there as Dogmantra.
(You're not R3dAc3, by the way. I tried to add you. In that case, I'll probably be link_lord_of_hyrule, since that's my email address.)

I thought this was something where I could rant, not about that Steam.

But there was a thread called 'This thread is a Valve' (to let loose some Steam) that was about ranting! Haha!

I know, but I thought it would be about Steam...
Anyway... TOPIC TIME!

Please, I need the ubersaw. I'm calling in all favours. Everyone who owns TF2 will let my Ubercharge them to get the achievement.

So, I just found out to add friends, it has to be your USERname, not your NICKname.

You may or may not know about the idler program for TF2, to get items and hats. Today, Valve removed all items gained by idling and gave everyone who didn't idle a special free hat: a halo. I am wondering whether I'll get one or not, because I once tried to connect to someone on my friends list, but they were idling.

Yes. They're very rare and random. You might get the Cheaters' Lament, depending on when you added TF2 to your account. I don't like it anyway. I'd rather get the Ubersaw (it's an unlockable weapon for Medic, the gaining of which means I have every weapon for my four main classes)

I was looking up TF2 hats, and I saw "Meet the Sandvich"

What is the sandvich for? Health boost? Taunting?

It's one of the Heavy Unlocks that replaces the Shotgun. It takes around 5 seconds to eat, and provides, I believe 120 health whilst doing so. Most people use it because the Heavy says "Om nom nom".

EDIT: oh yeah, I forgot to mention! I GOT THE UBERSAW FINALLY! Raven helped me get it.

Just got The Sandman and the Flaregun. I like stunning people with the baseballs

Also, what did you do to get the Ubersaw?

Me and Raven found an empty server and he did stuff like disguise as a spy, call for medic and let me kill him with the saw to get the achievement. Then I helped him get the Dead Ringer by setting up achievements for him.

My general thread, the Rant thread.

I have Steam, it's great. I got the Orange box and wound up only playing Portal. But I love it.

I have Steam, and did a few things I am not proud of, but am enjoying. Let's just say I <3 Garry's Mod, and money.

Portal is great but Half-Life 2 and Episode One and Two are... perfect, pure awesomeness...
