Well, I didn't have that much to work with at first, but since most of my team is speed/attack based I'm fielding staraptor, crobat, aerodactyl, skarmory, charizard, and honchkrow

What about the Brigadier or the Galaxy Badge?

I thought about that and shadow's idea, but it's gotta feel like you're getting a promotion when you're getting the badge, that's what I feel it should be anyway.

I think the obvious suggestion would be Garchomp, I mean, the thing is based on a jet.

true, but I kinda have to use flying types, otherwise I wouldn't be much of a flying type gym leader.

Crap, I'm listening to the Littleroot theme and there's liquid nostalgia pouring out of my face.

You think that's bad? Try this while you listen to this. I nearly died. It was so perfect. God dammit R/S/E was my childhood.

So I'm planning on evolving an eevee in an umbreon and I'm curious if anyone has any advice on what moveset I should go with.

Umbreon is one bulky [&@%!]. I've been stalled to death by the likes of them more than once.

I've mostly seen Umbreons with Protect, Toxic, Wish and Yawn. Sometimes they replace one of the former with something offensive like Foul Play to wreck physical attackers.

I like that moveset, my eevee is an adamant nature though, so I have been considering using a similar moveset, only I would have had crunch instead of wish, and payback instead of protect.

Mega Sceptile and Mega Swampert! (Mega Diancie too, but who gives a damn?)

Does Sceptile gain a bonus to defense, because in his original form his defense is about as helpful as a broken bicycle.

No idea. And apparently, the box legendaries are Prehistoric forms of Groudon and Kyogre. Neat.

I have zero use for sceptile at that point, his [&@%!] poor defense renders him useless in his original form anyway.

Still going to pick Torchic because it has the only evolutionary line that I like in its entirety, mega evo included. I like Mudkip and Swampert, but Marshtomp is stupid and M-Swampert is ugly af. I like Mega Sceptile but I don't like Treecko, Grovyle, or Sceptile. It'd be stupid for me to pick anything but Torchic. Besides, that's what I chose the first time I played Emerald. My Blaziken was the first mon I ever leveled up to 100. Good times.

I'm really hoping Steven Stone is going to make his appearance with a Megagross. I don't even know what it would look like or how it would function in battle but I need it anyway.

I know what you mean Rosie, I remember finishing Winona's Altaria only to hit her skarmory. If didn't have my combusken with ember and later blaziken with blaze kick to outspeed Steven's metagross I probably would have torn my hair out.

To be honest I'll probably go with Mudkip, (you could say I liek them, but not too much.) I just have the painful memory of getting into a rival battle where most of my team was underleveled and it came down to my Marshtomp against his Grovyle that used either absorb or mega drain, and promptly started healing faster than I could damage it, and I lost.

Blaziken is cool and all, I just like Swampert more.

You know, Blaziken was the 2nd pokemon I ever got to lvl100 (behind butterfree. Don't judge me!), but I'll think I'll mix it up and actually get Treeko this time. I love Mudkip, but am not of a fan if his next 3 stages. I love Blaziken, but I think I want to change things up. Plus, I really like Mega Skeptile.

The only issue with sceptile is that it has [&@%!] poor defense, everything else about is pretty much fine. It's just he has to kill in the first one or two attacks or he faints with single super effective attack.

Aaaaaaaand now Mega Sableye is a thing.

Thank you for posting that!!! I had an inkling they'd do mega Sableye due to it's popularity as a lead. I've actually been using Megaman a lot recently because it's a better version of Raikou and Jolteon.

I'll just come out and say it... I'm 10 times more hyped for the Pokemon remakes than I am for Dragon Age 3! I just hope they allow prankster Sableye to be caught in the wild this time.

As for starters... eh... I don't know. I already have every non-event Pokemon already but I'll probably go with Treeko because that's the pokemon I picked when I had the game at 14 years old and I want the feeling of Nostalgia.

Sadly I played through half of Emerald before the remakes were announced so that ruined it for me sort of. Another thing I wish they'd do is streamline the breeding process by allowing at least 2 max IV's on every Pokemon so for instance I could breed a Meowth with attack and speed IV's in a few tries instead of having to go through like a box worth+.

I realllllyyyyy hope they give us the Battle Frontier on the games though because only Emerald had it in the originals.

Uh... I guess the cyber fighter is better than Raikou and Jolteon... (Mega Manectric I guess?)

So far I'm excited, but a little put off on the revamped appearances of Archie and Maxie, Archie is now blue Aquaman and Maxie is a nerd...

I'm fine with that, as long they give me a good fight like they did in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald I have no qualms. Though it would be nice if they didn't spam swagger with their mightyenas
