Yet more fresh meat.

You know, I think I was thinking of doing a little competition for a new group picture. But I don't know what to do for a prize, because I have very little money to buy any prize worth giving. I shall ruminate on this. If you've got any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Methinks I will have to make a Steam account to activate me olde Skyrim DVD copy. Soo... I suppose I could join the merry UESP throng.
By the way, what significance does Steam have exactly in activating Skyrim? Do I have to get a special code from it?

That's about right. When you buy it, you put the disc in, type in your serial number and it starts downloading from Steam. We'd love to have you in the family.

Does that mean that I will have to be connected to Steam while playing, even though I have a hard copy of the game? Or can I stay disconnected from Steam (and Internet, for that matter) while Skyriming?

You can go into offline mode while playing Skyrim with Steam. When I play I am never actively online with Steam; I'm just running Skyrim through it. Of course, I have the digital copy, but I do believe it works the same either way!

You can save your account credentials, which allows you to play without an Internet connection.

Have we ever had some kind of event that was successful? Because I definitely think we should. I know that Tom tried to organize a TF2 game before, but I don't think it worked out at all.

I'd totally be up for a TF2 match.

I meant a gaming event. We've yet to have one. While it's nice receiving prizes and everything, I think everyone would seriously appreciate some kind of gaming event with the other members of the group.

I'll admit we've been slacking on that front. If you want to play something just post in here, I hope people check this thread. I can always do an event for it. Problem is that the timezone differences, plus the fact that I personally am bogged down with a slurry-like combination of Skyrim and work means that we don't really get much time to do anything.

Plus the group has only been around for a month or two.

We certainly have enough members now to have a grand event! Anyone is more than welcome to propose and set one up. I'm all game as long as it's on a weekend and I'm free!

It'll be three months old in three days, actually. But that's beside the point. With sufficient planning ahead of time I think we should be able to manage to find a time that is suitable for everyone.

Hey guys, for Garry's Mod, why does it crash on startup?

That usually happens when there's been a source engine update, I believe. It takes a while for Mr Newman to update his mod.
