I have never seen the Spider-Man meme before and am very interested to study it further.

It's a Harry Potter reference. Gryffindoris a magical house in Hogwarts. The others are Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

Spoiler:
I'm kind of surprised I'm explaining this...

While I did enjoy Harry Potter, the story's were far too predictable. Anything any character mentioned in passing was a hint at some future event, so it became just a matter of time before you realize how the whole story will play out books in advance. Like in one of the earlier books Albus mentions his brother had an incident with a goat, only for a later location that smelled distinctly of goat to be ran by an elderly man who was obviously Dumbledore's brother. There's no coincidence or red herrings, it's like reading a crime novel with a ton of different clues thrown at you to make you think the story will be complex, to only learn that the murderer was the most obvious crook ever.

I used to think that harry potter was an excellent book. It is but i wouldn't say it is in terms of writing and if i remember correctly, J.K Rowling used foreshadowing a bit too much. She was pretty much working towards the last book as she wrote the ending back in the 90s. Whilst there is nothing wrong with that, it's sometimes best not to write the ending first.

As for the films, some of them are a bit meh imo and some skipped over major parts of the books. But i've seen worse book adaptions.

Also, wands are a bit crap.

In a creative project, it is often good to do the beginning and ending first, as those will be the parts everyone will complain about otherwise. But I do agree alterations are smart as the project grows in scale. Also, do not make everything Chekov's Gun.

Bioware made the big mistake of not working towards a predefined ending with the Mass Effect trilogy and it seems like that they just didn't know how to end it so having an ending or a rough template is a good idea. Ideally, one should have the begining, middle and ending planned before starting work on it then allow for alterations to be made in case one has an idea or one thinks X should do Y instead of doing what was planned.

I think, they should have had a massive boss battle with Harbinger when the crucible connected with the citadel where you have to sync a targeting laser like on Rannoch and fight off waves of reapers with all your former and current party members, and they could've had Kirrahe or Anderson right there too in the action with you.

I think it helps that Lord of the Rings came out around the same as those movies, so I was probably caught up too much in LOTR and Potter flew under my radar.
