If characters from Scooby Doo can run on the spot like they're on an invisible treadmill, then I say why not?

I prefer running to jogging. Jogging feels unnatural.
What's annoying though, is that when I run, I like to run fast, and people seem to find this disconcerting and think that you're running for a negative reason.
That's why running in the countryside is best. Not that I do that, but that would be good.

I rather take up swimming. Granted, my shoes are not suited for running and I can run out of gas walking up a hill but i think, i would find swimming to be refreshing for both mind and body.

You may insert a joke about my mind. I will allow it.

Speaking of the topic, techincally, I am slowly losing weight and if i keep my new weekly diet up, i should be able to avoid becoming the Bloated Dovah. I am on the chubby side. Also, i did rowing once. Rowing boats is nice and there is a watersports centre in my town, which i may take up in the future.

Some of the moderation on the Planetside Forever community is paranoid and insane. One admin in particular stands out. He attacks people that haven't really done anything, has an inflated self ego, is super paranoid and rather insane, gets bent out of shape when someone criticizes him, etc. He's really making the community worse than it needs to be and if he stays how he's like, I see disaster. I suggested he get some help in a PM, but he got really defensive. There's two mods (out of the 4 in the community) that are okay to good. The main director of the project is pretty chill and on mod is great and chill and I get along with him. I'm just concerned what this out of control admin and the other mod could do to the community. They could shoot itself in the foot.

Another place with questionable moderation that I was on was TV Tropes. The mods there would ban people for something as minor as bad grammar! It was crazy. I'm glad to see that the moderation here is pretty chill most of the time. I also like that I haven't gotten too mad with power (at least I hope so!) in my tiny community. I am mod with power though >:) .

Bad leadership can ruin a community, operation, etc. The afore mentioned bad moderation on TVT and PSF. My managers at work being incompetent, favorites playing, etc. and the work environment suffering greatly as a result. Other "leadership" ruining other things in the world....

I absolutely hate running. Love me some good, moderately paced walking.

We should make a lazy club here for all the lazy people here. We shall rule the rule world! As soon as we stop lazing around.

If it was possible to instantly be refueled via devouring food, i would run more. Run out of breath, buy a pasty and instantly refuelled! Eat an entire cheesewheel? Run a marathon. I tend to be a fast walker and seldom have to slam the brakes on if i'm walking with someone.

I'm not lazy, I just don't enjoy running at all. I don't feel good afterwards, just completely exhausted and sweaty. I use to do other sports in the past, that were more physically taxing, and I enjoyed them a great deal more.

Moving and being outside feels good, but I prefer to be outside slowly. Or biking and pretending I'm flying an illegal podracer.

@Dovah: have you tried breathing? Proper breathing technique goes a really long way. You also don't need to be exerting yourself to the point of exhaustion, that's just bad for you. Also, hydration. Food is the least important part of your three basic intake needs.

I have a love/hate relationship with it. I do it more for the mental benefits than physical, I feel superhuman afterwards.

I don't know of any breathing execerises and it's mostly because of the amount of neglect i've put my body through that walking up a hill can cause me to burn out.

Here's the most simple and efficient one, the only one you'll ever need: when walking or (especially when) running, breathe evenly, aligned to the rhythm of your body. A common pattern is right foot - exhale, left, right - inhale. Time your steps so that every second time your right foot hits the ground you're either inhaling or exhaling deeply and evenly. If your breath starts going out of your control, stop, take a break, continue. That's building endurance 101. Endurance has less to do with being fit than you'd think. You can also do this while walking, or hell, even when you're just cleaning.

Speaking of exercise, does anybody here meditate?

I tend to do just that, since I lounge about for the extra energy to get me thru the day (Yay for insomnia!) I have the time to spare if I so choose to soen it. Really its nothing major, not really a core reason to why(i.e its not for religious or philosophical reasons). Just me there, sitting in the absolute dark.. it's sort of awkward to be walked in on
"Why are just sittin' in the dark?"
"I don't know'
At least I got clothes on :dur: but it's just something I do, get to lnow my psych a bit better. Good for mentally preparing yourself, and more importantly for me, control over breathing (cause [&@%!]'s a [&@%!] if you forget to breath mate!)

So.. I part mental training, the other respiratory

That's good, because neither of those are a requirement.

Does listening to your own music to analyze it count as meditating? I often forget what time is and start to see aural waves.

'Meditation' is a bit of a blanket term. Like 'exercising,' there's about a thousand different variations. But yeah I meditate daily. I generally do the 'mindfulness' practice. It's a Buddhist technique. I'm not Buddhist but damn does that work wonders when you begin to get proficient with it.

I actually don't know a thing about meditation, in case that wasn't obvious. The closest I've come was probably putting on whale song recordings for hours and dozing off while listening, but that just gave me very weird dreams.

Please mars, whatever you do, don't share with us those dreams.. I will take your word for it's weirdness (I'm sure you were having a whale of a time anyways)
