Copied straight from Wikipedia: "The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions."

The test identifies 16 personality types, each a different combination of the following four pairs of opposing traits. The overall personality type is often abbreviated to four letters, with each trait represented by the letter in brackets:

(I) Introversion or (E) Extroversion
(N) Intuition or (S) Sensing
(F) Feeling or (T) Thinking
(P) Perception or (J) Judgment

Recently I took a MBTI test - actually I took three of them - and they all agreed that I'm an INFP. I, N and P were all extremely clear, but F was just moderately clear. Strangely, all three tests were almost perfectly consistent, despite the questions being different.

Over the past few days, I've been reading about INFPs, as well as my second-best match, INTP, and I'm happy to say that both are clubs that I wouldn't mind belonging to. The two musicians that I admire most - Kurt Cobain and John Lennon - were both INFPs, and Albert Einstein was included in a list of INTPs. However, the point of reading about my type was to find out how other INFPs like to live their lives, as it may help me with my own. This website, in particular, had a lot of interesting information: http://www.16personalities.com/.

If anyone here is curious about their own personality type, the website above has a free test that you don't have to sign up for or anything. You can also find others with a Google search if you want to do more than one, or if the one on that site's a bit weird. And if you're comfortable sharing the results, please do! I really find this stuff interesting :).

Also, this website contains a list of people and their suspected personality type. It's nice because every type has its fair share of respectable, intelligent and creative people: http://www.celebritytypes.com/

I think there was another thread about this...

But depending on if we should keep the new thread, last time I took the test I found that I was an INFP as well.

Apparently I'm INTP. I was actually expecting ISTP, the description sounds more like me, only a bit too cheerful to fit.

INFP, apparently. That's weird, pretty sure I was ISTP last time I took this test.

Everytime I've taken these tests over like the past 10 or so years, I've come out as INTJ, and today was no exception. I think I brought this up in the last thread we had for this, but one of the sites I took this test on years back took it a step farther and broke you down into more specific categories based on your answer and I was considered a "Mastermind." I generally don't read the descriptions of these results, because I feel like then I just try to over justify what it is saying, pretending that the description fits me because the test says it does, rather than because those traits are actually true.

Percentage break down: I - 60%, N - 6%, T - 30%, J - 42%

So we have no extroverts so far... Not surprising, really. Everything else is represented by at least one person. And INFP is the most common type so far! Strange, as it's not a common type overall.

I'm curious; what percentages did people get? Especially those who got a different type this time around. Mine were (from memory): I 92% - N 78% - F 31% - P 78%. In tests that were yes/no, the percentages were typically higher. In one such test I hit 100% for I, N and P.

Are you going to share your percentages, Cam? INTP is a nice type. It's my second best match, and I think it correlates with high intelligence more than any other type.

I went back to the old thread that we had and checked my results then to see if I had the percentages listed, here's how I compare from almost a year ago to now-

Previously:
scribbane wrote:
INTJ
Introvert(56%) iNtuitive(12%) iNtuitive Thinking(62%) Judging(67%)

You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (56%)
You have slight preference of Intuition over Sensing (12%)
You have distinctive preference of Thinking over Feeling (62%)
You have distinctive preference of Judging over Perceiving (67%)

And Now:
scribbane wrote:
Percentage break down: I - 60%, N - 6%, T - 30%, J - 42%

Pretty similar, though it seems I've moved a bit more towards feeling than I was previously.

ISTJ

I - 6%, S - 6%, T - 8%, J - 50%

I pretty much agree with mine except for the;

Quote:
ISTJs are easily irritated by other people’s shortcomings – they see their own promises as sacred and cannot understand how someone could consciously fail to meet their obligations.

Your personality type: ENTP.

Strength of individual traits: E - 10%, N - 4%, T - 26%, P - 26%.

This makes sense, because this sounds almost exactly like me.
Apparently, I fall in line with... Well, a mix of good and bad people.

I'm okay with this.

Well this is weird, last time I took the test back in January I got:
Quote:
INFP
Introvert(11%) iNtuitive(50%) Feeling(12%) Perceiving(56)%

You have slight preference of Introversion over Extraversion (11%)
You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (50%)
You have slight preference of Feeling over Thinking (12%)
You have moderate preference of Perceiving over Judging (56%)
but this time I got:
Quote:
INTP
Introvert(22%) iNtuitive(12%) Thinking(38%) Perceiving(33)%

You have slight preference of Introversion over Extraversion (22%)
You have slight preference of Intuition over Sensing (12%)
You have moderate preference of Thinking over Feeling (38%)
You have moderate preference of Perceiving over Judging (33%)
