The Scourge of the Nords

It has only been a month since the King in Rags escaped the clutches of the Nords. Much has happened in that time. Madanach ordered two assaults on Imperial Camps in the Reach, one of which ended the life of Imperial Legate Rikke. The Forsworn have grown more and more bold, seizing Karthwasten and successfully driving out both Stormcloak and Imperial troops from the Reach. The Jarl of Windhelm, Ulfric Stormcloak, has recognized the Forsworn as a threat and is intent on wiping it out before he continues pursuing the throne in Solitude. General Tullius has not had any luck in taking advantage of this, as many of his soldiers were wounded and killed in the raids. He has recognized the Reach Rebellion as well.

Markarth, which is in Stormcloak control, is the next target. This is no easy feat, as reinforcements from both the Stormcloaks and Imperials have arrived in the Reach. Fortunately, they could spare little men due to their own war. Despite their differences, the Stormcloak and Imperial soldiers in the Reach have avoided one another, intent on wiping out the Forsworn menace. The roads are not safe for warriors of any side -- even the Forsworn, who know their land well, are not safe due to the amount of soldiers patrolling.

Because of this, Madanach has retreated into Hag Rock Redoubt. His plan is to send a small group of elite Forsworn warriors to Markarth . . . the warriors and magic-users would distract guards and cause a riot, while an assassin would slip into Understone Keep and murder Jarl Igmund. Madanach never was known for his plans, but his word is law in the Reach.

Your character is one of these Forsworn that have been volunteered to risk their lives for their people. From the Redoubt, you are to travel to Markarth as a group, and take the city silently and efficiently. (Or so Madanach envisions.) Due to the constant annoyances of the Forsworn, however, Jarl Ulfric himself will travel to the Reach with his men to try and put a stop to the rebellion . . . and Igmund may not be the only Jarl with a goat-skin bounty on his head. I've decided that this will be about as explicit as the Elder Scrolls, so "sexual themes" is about as far as that issue will go. Nothing graphic.

The Rules

1. Be decent and respectful. That is the number one rule for a reason.
2. I would very much appreciate it if you used proper grammar -- we all make mistakes, but some things are just ridiculous.
3. Please make a believable character! I dislike Mary Sues and their male counterparts.
4. Please use your brain! Your character is not going to take down six soldiers by himself, and he won't jump up from a sword in the back.
5. I reserve the right to ask you to change or fix anything you may post.
6. For OOC questions, you can always PM me. . for discussion, there's a lovely thread right here.
7. As much as I'd hate to, I may kick you or deny your application.
8. The lore is your best friend. If anything contrasts greatly with the lore, I will probably point it out. (If you think it's okay, feel free to discuss it with me . . . but I still have the last word.)
9. Once more. We're sticking as close to the lore as possible -- female gods will not have mistresses and things will make at least a little sense.
10. ....Abide by the rules.

Classes

This determines what you can do and how you fight. All classes are Breton-Reachmen except for a few exceptions. (If you would like to suggest a class, please PM me.)

Forsworn Warrior - The most common of the classes. You will wield axes, spears or swords. You are not good at sneaking and you aren't a magic-user. You will wear standard Forsworn armor. Dual-wielding is allowed.
(May utilize the following skills: Axe, Blade, Spear, HandtoHand, Athletics, Block, Acrobatics, Speechcraft)

Forsworn Archer - You are the stealthy bow-and-arrow user. You may have a dagger or simple weapon as well. Standard Forsworn armor is advised.
(May utilize the following skills: Axe, Blade, HandtoHand, Athletics, Acrobatics, Speechcraft, Sneak, Lockpicking)

Forsworn Shaman - A user of magics. You are a witch follower of the Hagravens and a religious leader of the Forsworn. (Lorkhan/Sheor, Kyne, Dibella, etc. are your main gods.) You may use a Hagraven staff (please ask me about it's enchantment -- it can be any number of things) and/or an axe. Females only.
(May utilize the following skills: Alchemy, Axe, Athletics, Speechcraft, Illusion, Restoration, Destruction, Conjuration, Alteration)

Forsworn Witch - You are an outsider to the Reach, but welcome as a student to the Hagravens. A follower of Kynareth, Hircine, and Lorkhan. You wear black robes and can use all Schools of magic. You listen to anything the Hagravens say, and if they order you to go along with the Forsworn, you obey. You excel at Enchanting. Females only.
(May utilize the following skills: Alchemy, Enchanting, Speechcraft, Sneak, Restoration, Alteration, Illusion, Destruction, Conjuration)
[ Nords, Imperials, Dunmer, Altmer, or Reachmen/normal Bretons allowed ]

Forsworn Wizard - A pure-magic user. A dagger and any of the Schools of magic are allowed. You may use Alchemy as well.
(May utilize the following skills: Blade, Alchemy, Enchanting, Speechcraft, Sneak, Restoration, Alteration, Illusion, Destruction, Conjuration)

Forsworn Fighter - Another common class. You will be a 'spellsword' of the Forsworn . . . a weapon in one hand (spear, axe or sword) and a spell in the other. All Schools of magic excluding Illusion are allowed.
(May utilize the following skills: Athletics, Acrobatics, Blade, Block, HandtoHand, Axe, Spear, Restoration, Alteration, Destruction, Conjuration)

Forsworn Berserker - A generally strong Forsworn that dual wields axes or swords. They are durable and never fight in the shadows.
[ Orcs and Bretons ]

Worth a shot, right? The setting may be a little obscure (I don't know if many are interested in Forsworn) and there may be a lot of RPs right now, but I want to know if I can do this right. :P

Worth a try.

That is, if you accept me in it (Don't know if you remember but we had some misunderstandings in the past. At the Skyrim area).

I would never turn someone away!

And yes, I think I remember. That's okay -- I guess my interest in TES witches is rather excessive. :P (my avatar is delightfully disgusting.) No harm done.

I'm not hugely interested in the Forsworn, but I may join, provided my workload and other RPs don't get in the way.

Do we just choose from the regular birthsigns?

Any of the Birthsigns will do. By brief history, just a few sentences will do --- was he born in Markarth, or in the Reach? Were his parents Forsworn? Etc.

Don't the warriors need to be Reachmen rather than Nords?

From the Wiki:
Quote:
The Forsworn, also known as the Reachmen, Witchmen of High Rock, and Madmen of the Reach, are a tribal group of racially-mixed (but primarily Breton) ancestry who inhabit the Reach in southwestern Skyrim.

This character basically carries the genes but isn't related to the other Nords in any way.

Spoiler:
I also took of the eye-patch from him. Was kinda stupid.

Oh, I read that to mean that individual Reachmen are of mixed race, not that the Forsworn are composed mostly of Bretons but also of other races.

*shrug*

I do beleive Deandra's right on that one, though it's up for debate.

I might join, but I'm going to Crete tomorrow, so I probably won't manage to get a sheet in.

Is that a definite no on the roleplay? Do I have your permission to archive it? (You could always request to bring it back later.)
