History: The D'Amore family was headed by Carlo, Bianca's husband, and they controlled much wealth, owning many brothels that attracted many clients, both long term and short term. But the family began to fall apart as the other families moved in on their businesses, and the D'Amore were plagued with infighting. Carlo was found at the bottom of the Hudson River, and the family was torn apart, many people joining their competitors. Their reputation was horribly soiled during these years, being seen as little more than a group of soiled wh*res with a few guns. Bianca took charge of the family, with help from Valentino, a long time friend of Bianca and Carlo, who became her conslierge. Most of the deserters were found horribly mutilated in their homes, with their manhood cut off--several others were found to have committed suicide. Her 20 year old son, Carlo Jr., became the underboss, helping his mother rebuild their former glory on the backs of the best wh*res in the city. Their girls are equally renowned for their skills in showing wealthy patrons an exceptionally good time, as they are for torturing and eventually killing deadbeat customers and enemies of the family. The D'Amore traditionally specialize in handguns and knives, as they are easily concealable, so as not to spook patrons--they also employ explosives, when the need arises.

Personality: Seemingly a pretty soft man all around, but has a stone cold core. He doesn't mix emotions with business, and does his best to keep his wife away from the Family.
History: Aldo (born Aldo Romano II) was born into the Romano Family along with fraternal twin brother, Mario. From the moment they were old enough to talk, they were at each others throats. When they were age 18, they became 2 of the Family's Capos. During this time, he got married to an Irish lady (Fiona Moore Romano) and had a son (John Romano) Aldo and Mario were always trying to gain their father's trust so they could become underboss. When they were 21, their father was assassinated by what seemed at the time to be a rival family. The Romano family was split in two. On one side there were those loyal to Aldo, and on the other, there were those loyal to Mario. They fought for 6 months, losing dozens of Romano soldiers and Aldo took a bullet to the shoulder from an assassin. In the end, it was discovered that Mario was the one who had killed their father. He was executed that night, and even after all the trouble he had caused, he was given a proper burial. Aldo II (now just known as Aldo) took the place of his father as Don of the Romano family. By the time he was 37, his son John (now 19) has become underboss and the Romano Family has repaired the damaged done and even improved since Aldo's father was Boss.
Facial Features:Pretty smooth and looks younger than he really is. He is usually cleanly shaved, but sometimes allows a small patch to grow on his chin. His hair is all jet black and his eyes are a deep blue color that seems to pull you in.
Bodily Features: Average-tall in height height and average-athletic build (though he was more athletic during his days and a Capo and a Soldier). The only battle scars he has is a bullet wound in the left shoulder.
Usual clothing : Simple suits and a fedora, usually black all the way down to this shoes. He only wears ties on certain occasions such as funerals. He won't, however, wears a tie when meeting another boss and important individual. He wants them to know that he won't go out of his way to impress them.

He was soon assassinated by another family, and Alberto came to power. Alberto, again made bad decisions, bringing their family to turmoil, but then soon brought the family off their feet, and is doing better than he usually is at the moment. He got his scar in a street fight against the mafia that killed his father. He dodged a Molotov Cocktail, and the cap scratched his check as it whizzed by, and exploded behind him, which is where he got his bad leg.

History: A second-generation immigrant. His father was a banker, who came to America after a series of deals went wrong. However, he was successful enough in his new country to earn himself a decent enough living, and one for his son as well. Vincenzo, or Vince, to his friends, was involved with the Mafia since his late teens. While many of his friends were the more stereotypical thugs, he was the one who planned their small-scale operations. Him and his brother, Angelo, were made when they were respectively twenty-two and twenty, and went on to be extremely succesful. By the age of 37, Vince was the Boss, and proved himself a capable one.
Facial Features: A wide, honest looking face. A worry-lined forehead gives him a look more akin to a clerk than a mob boss. However, there is a degree of charm to his features, as well. The only thing that betrays his life of violence is a ragged scar, only an inch or two long, on his left cheek, that he sustained in a knife fight in his youth. His hair is short, and beggining to gray at the temples.
Bodily Features: Relatively tall, standing six feet. While still in decent enough shape, has developed a bit of a belly.

Though, once Joey's father was decieved by the law, their whole crim business was taken, and they found better life in America, where they still took up 'the family business' His father taught him how to kill, how to decieve, and how to just be plain evil. Joey was promoted to underboss once he turned 23. They moved to America ten years later. They had a very great start, but then needed to start over again due to other unknown and other underestimated families, which killed Joey's father, and lost them everything. Joey took power quickly and got their family where they are now. Joey just turned 34 one day ago. The family, like all others, is striving to gain power, money, and safety of the family.
Facial Features: Very narrow, dark eyes, and tan skin. His nose is perfect, and he has a forever frown like face. His face is always shaved, and his hair is short. His ears are round and straight, and his hair is brown.

Plot
You, boss, are the well... boss. You run your own mafia, here in America. Your mafia family ancestors came from Sicily, around the 1850's. Just a few decades later, you are here to carry on the tradition with the recent death of your previous boss. You reside in New York, and own the basic buildings and equipment to operate your chain. You make the calls for money and power, and the safety of your family. You use extortion, gambling, drugs, brothels, theft, assassinations, and whatever you feel. Loans, and all that work too. Gain your money and power. Become the strongest family.

Mechanics (You may want to read this when you finish with everything, or not. Up to you )
Every person who joins up creates another family, and is the boss of it. A family is created and given $50,000, an underboss, Consigliere, two Caporegimes, twenty soldatis, and four Associates. You are given time before the rp starts to spend your money, or save it. Once the rp starts, you are suspectible to attacks from other mafias, and you are allowed to go out and make some money, kind of.
You won't be the person going out, you are the boss of the family, the underboss, and the Caporegimes Your main character is the boss of the family. Your goal is to become the strongest family, which would make you the Capo di tutti Capi (boss of the strongest family in the area). The Capo di tutti Capi is judged by everyone in polls asking "Who is the Capo di tutti Capi?", with the families in the poll options. The Capo di tutti Capi should be judged regarding amount of members, amount of extorted shops, amount of money, armory size, and if you are scared of that family. I would rather you not vote for yourself, only do so if you are clearly ahead.
The game's time periods are taken by weeks. A week ends whenever you want it to. If a good amount of people want an end week, I will. If one is not wished for, it will continue until I think it should stop. If your mafia falls due to another player, or me, I know it is dissapointing. You will be able to make a new one though. I would suggest trying to try diplomacy if you want something from another family, or a small scale war. Because, being wiped out and starting over doesn't seem like fun. Especially if you are very powerful at the time. Though, if just the boss of the family dies (or is assassinated), an underboss becomes a boss, a caporegime becomes an underboss, a soldati becomes a caporegime, and an associate becomes a soldati. So all that really happened was the loss of an Associate (Which sometimes can be a big deal). If a Consigliere dies, they must be hired again, if you want one.
My involvement in this is more than it seems. I control your Associates and Soldatis. You control the boss, underboss, and Caporegimes. I am also the Consigliere, and will always give my best advice, no deception or anyting. I will keep track of your money and everything further down in the OP. I am also head of my own mafia, the Gusti Family, which most likely will not mess with your families.
Another greater involvement is PMing. My consigliere will PM you with advice, you can PM other families with "Making marriages", "iceing" someone, being a "rat", and getting "Juice" (read the mafia information section, under terms). Bottom line, PM's are used for things that need to be kept private between people.
