The fate of man drifts like seaweed in the net of His mind.
-- Follower of Hermaeus Mora

The Battle of Knowledge

IN 5E 144 , THE EMPIRE regained control, Black Marsh and Elswheyr joined the empire again. Emperor Amiel Creed took the throne. And Tamriel enjoyed a moment of peace.

Until one day, when the realm of Oblivion is broken. Hermaeus Mora, Daedric Prince, the Demon of Knowledge, in his infinite wisdom, has found a way to invade the world, destroying Martin Septim's work in 4E 1.

Since then, all of Tamriel has gone under an attack from the Knowledge Demon. His beings, Shades, are dark gaseous black blobs that hover above the ground. If they engulf you for more than a minute, you are transformed into a Husk. A Husk is an emotionless human that "Sees the truth, and follows Mora because of it." Other than that, they cause you to feel extremely cold if you get too close to them (Frost damage). For battle, Shades become a doppleganger of the opponent, no matter who, and fights "Himself". A Husk has dull gray skin, and dark bags under their eyes. They either wear dull colorless clothing or battle armor for Mora. A Husk, to human knowledge, cannot be reverted to normal form. Shades are incredibely intelligent.

Additionally, humans sometimes choose to become Husks. Because Husks gain all of the knowledge of everything; they know nearly as much as Mora himself. Husk generals, of course, are people who have become Husks by choice. Slaves, janitors, and grunts are people forced into being a Husk.

So, all of the provinces are teaming up to fight this threat; they're battling the master of knowledge. Hermaeus Mora.

ROLEPLAY:

Your people (See below) are battling Mora in some way. Are they a farmer, who's land was taken over by Husks? A experienced general? A Master-Wizard? A lowly grunt? Anything else?

They battle Mora's Shades and Husks, keeping him at bay. Occasionally, they can achieve something great in the battle. You decide!

There can also be "Side conflicts". Is Skyrim and Morrowind in a fight, and are threatening to pull away from the war unless Emperor Creed chooses one?

Is one of your characters facing a personal crisis? Does he need to chose between fighting to save a town, or be there when his wife gives birth?

BASIC RULES:

You create a people. These people can be from Morrowind, Cyrodiil, Black Marsh, Elswheyr, Valenwood, Hammerfell, Skyrim, Orsinium, High Rock, or the Summerset Isles.

Who are they, and why are they involved in this battle?

How do they advance in fame until they become famous? Or do they stay in the shadows?

SPELL Nicely! Spelling mistakes are okay, but don't spell and use grammar like a four-year-old. (I admit, Hormaeus is hard to spell. I'll mispell it at times.)
ADVANCED RULES:

CREATE MANY PEOPLE! Expect your men to die. Create brothers, expect one to get injured, die, or worse... turn into a Husk.

DON'T Be a god!!! Yes, you are fighting Hermaeus Mora, but you cannot give an entry saying "my dood kiled maro i won."

I AM THE GOD! I will every once in a while roll with the information and give an unexpected twist. Maybe I kill one of your characters. Maybe Valenwood gets targeted by millions of Shades. Maybe your character has an accident, or gets demoted.

On the other hand, what if he gets promoted? Or gets more soldiers? Or becomes Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild? I DECIDE THIS. Of course, you can decide minor or medium things. You can't suddenly post "He became Arch-Mage." You can, however, describe how the current Arch-Mage is in danger...

IF YOU MAKE YOURSELF TO GODLY, I will intervene and cause bad luck.

NEVER Post the outcome of battles! Describe them in great detail, but don't describe the ending, unless it's minor. (One on one) When I check in, I will post the results of the battles against Shades and Husks.

OTHER CHARACTERS DO EXIST! Everyone plays in the same world. If you want to make the Leader of Skyrim, and someone else already made him, too bad for you.

THE PERSON YOU CANNOT CREATE Is the Emperor. Emperor Amiel Creed. Anyone else IN THE WORLD, you can make.

CHARACTER SHEET:

Since you will make many characters, you can cut it down to the basics. It can go like this:

Name:
Race:
Province Living in:
Short Summary:
Social Status:
Other details (Weapon of choice, armor, favorite color, whatever):
Looks:

Example:

Name: Amiel Creed
Race: Imperial
Province Living in: Cyrodiil
Short Summary: The old, but kind, emperor of Cyrodiil. Amiel is brave, noble, and fights in wars himself, showing his bravery.
Social Status: Emperor
Other details (Weapon of choice, armor, favorite color, whatever): Carries his father's Ebony Longsword, standard emperor's robes.
Looks: Age 65. Short cropped gray hair and noble, high-class attitude and appearance.

STARTOFF:

Farmer Bearn Thias, a Breton farmer living on a remote farm in the Gold Coast of Cyrodiil, raked the ground on a crisp fall day. Bearn had just left his wife and daughter in the house. He was next to Old Renee, his cow he had as a family pet. The cool wind blew against his face. "Oh, Renee," he breathed. This is a prefect day, is it not?" Old Renee moo-ed in response. Bearn left her and went to sit on a rock. Today was just too good to spend farming. He sat on the rock, looking out at the rolling hills and green grass. He noticed a man walking out in the middle of it. "Ho there, stranger! What are you doing out here?" He called. The man came closer. Bearn realised that the man was staggering; he was covered in blood. "What - ?" Bearn started.
"No time!" the man rasped. "No time! They are coming! Here, take this! Defend your land!" The man pulled out two swords from his bag. He gave a steel one to Bearn, he kept a silver one for himself.
"What is this for?" Bearn asked. "I'm not a fighter. I had legion training back in the day, true... but I backed out before becoming a soldier."
"The Shades!" The man shouted. Bearn's face drained of color. He had heard of the shades, how they destoryed lands ans turned them into wastelands.
"They... they are coming here? To Herder's Farm? Why?" Bearn asked. Herder's Farm was, obviously, the name of his farm.
"Tracking me, I bet... me and my legion patrol were scouting, and we were ambushed. They killed eveyone... but Uran! They... they turned Uran! He looked at me! His eyes were dull... his skin grayed... he bacame... a Husk!"

At this point, Bearn's wife, Malinda, came out of the farmhouse. "What is going on here? Who are you? Why are you here?" She asked the man.

"No time... here they come! Look!" Suddenly, waves of Shades came over the hills, suddenly, and without warning. They slightly looked like Black Will-O-The-Wisps, Bearn thought. But they had more substance, they were... thicker. "Fight, farmer! Protect your kin! Take the fight to Hermaeus Mora's creations!"

In a quick fight, Bearn fought alongside the bloody legionairre. Twenty copies of the man swarmed him. Suddenly, the man glowed black, and vanished. Bearn was alone. He needed to retreat!

"Malinda - take Delilah and run!" Bearn shouted. Malinda rushed in the house to get Delilah - their daughter. The Shades approached the front door. Bearn saw a copy of himself, in the mass of black things.

"Shades! Leave them alone! Fight me! He tried to get close, but a shade-copy of one of the man's legion patrols took a mace and hit him on the head. Everything glowed red, then he faded out.

Bearn awoke on the farm. The Shades were gone. He saw that Old Renee was lying dead on the ground... so was all of his animals. His crops were flattened and destroyed. Bearn held his head, and went into the farmhouse. There was a lot of destruction, yet Delilah and Malinda were nowhere to be found.

"Maybe," Bearn thought, "They were taken like that man was. Maybe I could find them!" He looked at the hilt of the steel sword, still attached to his belt. There was a named engraved on it... "Karyn". So, the man's name was Karyn, and he and Malinda and Delilah were trapped somewhere by the Shades.

"I must find them." Bearn decided. "I will start my search for them. I will get information and equipment... in the Imperial City."

END

FINAL:

So, make a starting off story like me, and send them on their adventure! Anyone is free to join at any time!

A final reminder; there are no rules in this war. Do anything you want! Be as off topc wth your stories, as long as it is relating slightly to the story. Remember the story. Hermaeus Mora, and all that.

I will pop in every one in a while and add a twist, like I said. I will hurt your created characters. I may send them on a mission. I may have them incapacitated for a while and force you to make someone new.

There are two final rules; Your character can interact with other people's characters, and you can talk for them. DO NOT MAKE ANY DESCISIONS for them, let that user. The second: You cannot kill Other people's characters, or Emporer Amiel Creed.

There is ONE main character, however... that is Bearn. He will not die, I'll say that now.
So, the fate of the world is up to you! Create a story, and fight the Demon of Knowledge!

Name: Bun-Za
Race: Argonian
Province Living in: Black Marsh
Short Summary: Bun-Za is one of Lilmoth's best thieves. He works for the highest bidder, tampering in noble affairs, robbing a client's competition to help business, etc. He often travels to other provinces in Tamriel as well.
Social Status: Thief
Other details: Carries a long, thin ebony dagger; enjoys relaxing near ponds and lakes, and is fond of fruit.
Looks: Red-brown scales, large, gray eyes, bony facial features and long head spines. Wears a lightweight leather curaiss and greaves bleached tan.

Lilmoth, Black Marsh; early in the morning-

Bun-Za prepared himself for the journey to Cyrodiil. He had situated heavy locks on the doors to his beloved home, which he had purchased with stolen funds several months earlier. He had tasked a close friend with keeping an eye on his fish pond, however unlikely it was that someone would bother it. After running through his mental checklist, he started off, following the well beaten path. He didn't want to deal with bandits today, although he had the feeling they wouldn't pose much of a problem. Nevertheless, it was important he made good time. It was not every day one was asked to meet with the Emperor's advisors, although he knew the reason for the meeting. He hadrecentley broken into a nobleman's house, and found evidence the man was attempting to turn himself into a husk. Somehow the Empire had became aware of this, probably through an untrustworthy contact. Bun-Za shook his head, laughing at himself. This could easily be a setup. He might be thrown into jail as soon as he arrived. Dismissing the thought, he continued down the path. His gut told him just to keep going.

To get some people started . . . here's some motivation.

Emperor Amiel Creed sat on the deck with his wife, Gretchun Creed. They were watching the sunset, overlooking the waterfront. They were in a vacation home.

Amiel and his wife were sitting in quiet, until a dark figure came out to meet them. She had a robe and hood covering her face. "Lady Creed," She rasped. "You are needed in the main room." Gretchun looked up. "Servent Hirea? Is that you?"

"Yes maam." Hirea said. "You have a visitor." Gretchun got up. "Excuse me, Amiel." She walked away with Hirea. Amiel watched them go, an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. After a while, however, he dozed off.

Amiel awoke with a start. He was being shaken awake by his Bodyguard, Rolgan. "Sir! Sir! Oh, thank the gods! You're alive!"

Amiel looked around. "Wha...?" The big nord looked worried. "Sir, Husks attacked the house! Sir, They knocked me out! I'm so stupid, if I put on my helmet, but I didn't... and now... and now..."

Amiel stood up. "What, man?" Rolgan stiffled a cry. "They took... Lady Creed! They took her, and left this note!" He handed a red note to Amiel.

Emporer,

This note is written in your wife's blood. If you want her back alive, surrender to my power by the end of five months.

Hermaeus Mora

BLACK HORSE COURIER BREAKING NEWS!

On a raid of esteemed Emporer Amiel Creed's house of the waterfront resulted is the kidnapping of Gretchun Creed!

When will Amiel Creed decide to fold to Mora's power, so the bloodbath stops? Over 1,500 soldiers have been killed or taken in the battle of Hermaeus Mora.

"I think he's being stubborn, we will be unharmed, at least, under the rule of Hermaeus Mora." Says citizen Fara Claus.

"What? Give up the throne? No! Do you really believe that Mora will not kill us all once he rules? No, he must die!" Says citizen Darius Krint.

Despite this, Amiel Creed is keeping up the fight, and additionally has offered a reward of 10,000 septims for his wife, Gretchun Creed. He says the reward will grow 10,000 septims every week he is apart from her!

So, brave adventurer, will you save Gretchun Creed?

Note ordered by the empire: If you can pick up a sword, it is highly reccomended that you join the legion to fight this threat.

Bun-Za was very excited. He had just finished reading a copy of the Black Horse Courier that had been thrust upon him, upon arrival to the Imperial City. 10,000 gold coins per week that the Emperor's lady was missing? If he played his cards right, he might have a chance at forty thousand, or fifty thousand gold pieces! He threw away any notion of meeting with the Emperor's advisors at that exact moment. Bun-Za headed towards the Imperial Legion office, in search for more information.

Bearn Thias slowly walked through the forest, to the Imperial City. His eyes were fierce, he had a clear goal in mind; to save his family. He came upon the great bridge leading to the Imperial City. He saw the house Grillse, known as Weye years ago. The Inn that was once there was long gone, burned down by a drunk mage. The innkeeper never had the money to build it up again, and since the Mage died in the fire, he couldn't be taken to court.

Anyways, Bearn approached Grillse. The owner was a friend of his, Jiriska. Jiriska was a hard worker, and she was very brave.

He came to the door. "Jiriska! It's me, Bearn! Jiri, open up!" instead of seeing Jiriska's face, or hearing her voice, a small child's voice rang out.

"Are you one of the bad people?" It said. Bearn could tell it was a girl. He smiled to himself.

"No. In fact, I'm fighting... the bad people ... myself. Can I come in, and see Jiriska?"

"You sure you won't hurt me?"

"Yes, child. May I ask where Jiriska is?"

The door swung open, and there was the face of a little Dark Elf girl of about eight. "Jiriska's not here, mister." She said. "She left a long time ago. She said the bad people were getting too close. They once passed real close to our house, and we hid in the basement. Jiriska left the next day. I stayed behind. Jiriska took me in, when I was homeless."

Bearn frowned. "What happened to your parents, little girl?"

"My ma and my pa and me were all living in a house in the forest. Bad people came into the house. My pa fought them, and my ma fought them... for me. They fell down... then I ran. I ran fast."

Bearn felt sad for the girl. She was orphaned so young, because of Hermaeus Mora. "Why didin't you go to the city?"

"They put up a barricade on the bridge, and I can't swim yet to pass under it."

"Well, little girl, how about we go to the Imperial City together?"

The little girl's face broke out in a smile. "Sure! My name's Siren, by the way. My ma called me that, at least."

Other details (Weapon of choice, armor, favorite color, whatever): He uses the Duskfang/Dawnfang, a blood drinking blade, he wears the raiment of valor, covered by a bloodstained robe, his life revolves around chorrol, and he lives in battlehorn castle. Connor walked outside Battlehorn and picked up the days black horse courier. He read it, and decided he was up for the challenge. Matthias gently sneaked through the shadows, his glass dagger glistening. He approached the target, a stupid Bosmer. He came up behind the Bosmer, pulled his other dagger out, and stabbed the taget multiple times in the spine. He grabbed the Bosmers neck, and slide the dagger through it. The pay was on his body. He turned around, and faced an Imperial Legion. He stabbed the guard, and dragged both bodies into the nearby water.

Good to see this picking up.

As a side note, don't 'save Gretchun Creed' in your story. Create a rescue adventure, but don't finish it. I'll give the privilage to whoever can write it the best :D

Gretchun Creed sat in a damp, dark cell miles underground the city of Leyawiin. It was not empty, however. She sat in there with another woman. A woman who, suprisingly, looked much like her. "H-hello." Said the woman. "They got you too? I thought Shades kill... I didn't think they'd... take prisoners. I think I'd rather they'd kill us."

"Now don't you think like that!" Gretchun whispered. "Our situations may be grim, but I am sure my husband will rescue both of us."

"Your - what?" Suddenly recognition flood into the woman's face. "You are Emporesss Creed! Oh, why are you doing here.?"

"I got taken, by a Shade and a husk. A single Shade came into my house, turned my servant into a Husk, and took me. They also drugged my husband so he fell asleep, and knocked out our guard. A perfect kidnapping. I-"

Before she could continue, the Husk Jailor came to the cell door. "Listen, non-Gretchun! We took you because we thought you were Gretchun. But you are not! So get ready - you die tomorrow!" With that, he stalked away.

The woman gasped. "No! No, I have a husband, and a daughter! I need to get back to them!"

Gretchun sighed. "We'll find a way out of this. What's your name?"

"Malinda Thias."

Ignoring the Strange pair ahead of him, Connor continued to imperial city to look for information on the kidnap. Maneuvering around a strange city is a bit tough, so big, its easy to get lost, Connor noted where the exit was, and continued to the palace. upon arrival at the palace, a guard stopped Connor.
"Halt" said the guard " What is your business here?"
"I have come seeking more information on the kidnap, do you have some?" replied Connor
"No, you should seek Guard captain Lucien for more information, he is just down the hall, first door to the left. you shouldn't miss it."
Connor thanked the guard and headed down the hall, turning to the left at the first door.
the door creaked open as Connor pushed the door open.
"Lucien?" he asked

Matthias maneuvered corner by corner, he passed by a door, and a note laid above. He was surprised to see it. He ran to the palace, eager for adventure. He was getting tired of all the murders. He walked up to a guard and said:
"I am Matthias, the one who is wanted. I turn myself in." The guard was surprised to see this.
"Pay the fine or-
"I know, i pay the fine. Heres 1,000 septims."
A couple of hours later Matthias arrived at the palace.
"Im here to volunteer to save Gretchun."
"See Lucien, first door on the left." Matthias nodded and went slowly into the room.
"Lucien? Im here for the kidnapping." Tim examined the room. One person was next to another, an older man. This was Lucien.

That's what's fun. YOU can make up whatever happens, whoever happens, wherever happens! It's Tamriel, anyway you want it!

Name: Alumus Salimandus
Race: Imperial
Province Living in: Cyrodil
Short Summary: A battle-harderned Palace Guard who has had his share of troubles, big and small. His father is the current Grand-Master of the Blades and will soon induct Alumus as a Blade, a personal guard to the Emperor himself. Nothing really suprises him anymore and he will freely speak his mind.
Social Status: Noble Crusader
Other details (Weapon of choice, armor, favorite color, whatever): Imperial Palace Guard armour with a flowing back silk cloak. Enchanted Akaviri Dai-Katana with an obsidian-black blade called Salimandur.
Looks: Short silver hair with a bandanna to protect the head from waring a helmet. Has a black bloodstained rag covering his blinded left eye. He stands tall at proud but he sometimes limps on his right leg from an old wound, although he will never do this in plublic.

''Hi..ss..sss... You are dooommed!'' those were the last words of the Guard Captain Lucien before Alumus buried his blade deep through his heart.

The guilt he felt dissapered quickly as he rememberd the Captain offered himself freely to the daedra and turned into a Husk General.

Lucien had explained to Alumus that after he became a General; how he led the shades and husks through the old way in the palace sewers, led them through the secrets paths, all the way to the Royal chambers right to the queen.
He then explained how when he pledged himself, he understood everything that was not right, how it should be.
A twisted way of how it should be.

''Will you join me my old freind?''
This was the question Lucien posed to Alumus.
This was the question that made his blood boil.
How dare he, one with such a prestidgious career, and so much loyalty, to turn and become an enemy.
How dare he defy the Empire!

And without even replying Luien unsheafed his blade and quick as a flash, brought it down over Alumus's head with tremendous force.
He underestimated Alumus for as fast as Lucien was, he didnt have the tactics and experience of his second in command.
Alumus heard the swish of the blade and quickly dropped to one knee, and pivoted fully around and struck his former freind and collegue through the heart.

While all of this was happening, Alumus failed to notice two others walk in, one after the other...

Bearn and Siren went to the barricade keeping out Shades and Husks. "Ho there, guard! We need to pass! Can you please let up the barrier?"

The guard squinted his eyes. "Really? How can I know you aint Grays?"

"Er... Grays?"

"It's a legion nickname for 'Husks'."

"I see. Now come on, who has a Husk child with them?"

The leigon man finally gave up, and let the gate open. Bearn and Siren went in, thanked him curtly, then left for the Imperial Palace, to make an official notice that his wife and daughter were missing.

On their way to the palace, Bearn spoke to Siren.

"So, Siren, do you know anyone in the city?"

"Nope. But - ooohhh! Look at the palace! I've never seen up this close before! It's so big! I mean really big!" The girl squealed, and broke into a run. Bearn couldn't help but notice she acted like his daughter, Delilah.

When they came to the palace door, they saw a large crowd of people trying to get in. Two guards were barring the door. One spoke up. "There is enough people in the palace already! I am only authorized to say that we say husks heading southwest soon after Gretchun's kidnapping. That is it! Now, everyone leave!"

Only some people left, however. Most stayed and demanded to get in, greedy for the gold. Siren edged her way to the front, until she was in front of the guard. "Siren!" Bearn shouted. He went to meet her, in a crowd of people no child was safe alone.

"Excuse me, sir," Siren said, looking at the guard. "My daddy's the Chancellor Mathran Llevas, and I want to see him." She looked at Bearn. "He's my nanny. He needs to come too."

The guard looked doubtful. "Well... I shouldn't let two strangers in."

Bearn nodded, catching on. "Well, that seems reasonable. I'll need your name, though. Chancellor Llevas would want to know why he was worried about his daughter being missing for another five hours, until he gets a break."

The guard's eyes widened to the size of plates. "No - that is unnecesary. You can go in... just keep the others out."

Inside, Bearn whispered "How'd you know about Chancellor Llevas? And how'd you know how to lie?"

Siren shrugged. "I saw his name on a poster. And I thought on my feet. I find everyone trusts people as young as I am."

Connor was surprised to see Lucien stabbed as he walked through the door. Quickly, Connor pulled put dusk fang and readied it. "Are you Lucien?"
"No" replied the man "So... this looks pretty bad doesn't it?"
Connor smiled "Heh... Yah"
"allow me to explain" stated the other man

OOC: im really starting to like Siren :P

Alumus stood up and turned around to find two strangers in the room with him.
He knew that the other Guards would not let anyone in unless they had anything to do with the mission to find the Empress.
Alumus saw both of the mens eyes dart to the Captain crumpled on the floor, and then back to himself, a quick flick of fear from one set of eyes, and the careful but predatory eyes of the second man.

"Are you Lucien?"
"No" replied the man "So... this looks pretty bad doesn't it?"
Connor smiled "Heh... Yah"
"Allow me to explain" stated the other man

He pointed to Lucien's body and talked to both men at once.
''That there is Lucien, im sorry that you both could not meet him under any other circumstances, but he has just admitted betraying the Empire to that Daedra we are all fighting against. Also, he tried to kill me, wich you can obviously see did not work. As his second in command it was my duty to put and end to his traitorous crime.''

Alumus removed his helmet, it was stiffling hot in the office and he wanted to get a better look at his audience.

''My name Is Almus Salimandus, Acting Captain of the Imperial Palace Guard. I assume you are both here about the reward?''

"you assume right." replied Connor "Could you tell me more about it?"
"I am sorry to tell you, that i do not know much about the matter, you'll have to talk to Emperor Creed himself now... Ask one of the other guards, explain the situation, they will be sure to escort you"
"thank you" replied Connor "I hope to see you again"
and with that, Connor turned around and walked out the door.

Alumus waited till Connor was out of earshot and closed the office door, turned to the other man in the room and simply said:
''I have heard about you Matthias. You may not know it but our spies have been keeping a close watch on your activities over the past month. With your skills i do belive i have a highly dangerous job that you might be able to do, and in return i can pardon all the crimes you have commited against the Empire, and pay you handsomly for your services.''

Before Matthias had a chance to reply, Alumus held up his hand for silence.

''If you do take up this offer, you may not live to reap the benifits, so think carefully before giving me your answer. You have untill the end of the day to come back to me and give me a yay or nay.''

And with the remaining scilence, Alumus usherd him out of the room, called the guard down the hall to clean up the mess in the Captains office.

When the guard had finished, Alumus put his helmet back on, fastend it, and made his way to speak to Chanchellor Llevas.

"Hey! you there, guard! take me to the emperors chambers, i have important business with him, i must speak to him immediately"
Obediently, the guard walked Connor down the long halls to the top of the palace.
Connor knocked on the door politely. "come in!" came a voice from the other side.
Connor pushed the door open. "Emperor?" Connor asked.
"yes" he replied

Bearn and Siren walked into the Guard captains chambers. He saw a man covering something up with a tarp. Bearn didn't press farthur.

"Excuse me... Sir?"

"Oh, by the gods, another one? I thought they had a barrier in the front! Why ever did Creed put that reward for finding Gretchun?"

"What? No - no, I'm here to report a kidnapping. Shades took my wife, Malinda, and my daughter, Delilah. And they took a soldier of yours, a man I only know as Karyn." Bearn adjusted his steel sword.

"Let me check the records... Yes, there was a Karyn Iric, vanished near Herder's Farm. He was presumed dead... but taken... what is with that?"

"What do you mean, sir?"

The guard sighed. "Empress Gretchun Creed was taken -- much like your family, and our guard. There is a 10,000 septim reward for her safe return -- and thatreward is growing 10,000 every week. If I were you, I'd search for her. Chances are, you might find your family with her. And... you look capable... if you get Iric back, I'll throw in another 1,000 gold. Sound reasonable?"

Before the guard recieved an answer, Bearn darted out of the room, followed by Siren. His only thought was to save his family.

Before he did anything, however, he stopped by the Arcane Univerity. It was as close to a school as possible, and where he was going, kids couldn't follow.
