Stranded on Akavir

Post by King Acunasti »

Yeah, the title kinda explains it all. I'm a little new to this roleplaying stuff, so don't criticize me if I'm doing something wrong :P . Here's the setting:

1E 490

During the age of peace between the Chimer and the Dwemer of Resdayn, a Dwemer-crafted ship is blown off course in a massive storm. The brass vessel is thrown upon the shores of Tsaesci, Akavir. Her crew is seperated by race - some being Chimer, the others being Dwemer. These two groups must learn to work together to pass the greatest test of survival.

Ues this guide to create your character (thank you Raven for the ideas for the character guide)

Code: Select all

Name:

Race (either Chimer or Dwemer):

Gender:

Age:

Weapons:

Appearance:

Backround:

Personality:
(Try not to give your character a common name like Bob, Joe, or Tim. Be creative  .)

Rules (thank you Raven, once again):

1) I'm the boss. Whatever I say goes :Twisted Evil: !

2) Only one character per member.

3) Don't make any extreme changes in the storyline without asking me through a PM first.

4) Follow the story, and don't get offtopic.

5) Just because there are Dwemer in the this story, there will be NO rockets, tanks, guns or planes involoved with this RP. The only "technology" allowed in the story is the stuff you find in Morrowind (besides the ship, but that's different).

6) Your character's not a super-hero. They get injured in battle.

7) Don't create a bunch of enemies. I'll introduced the new enemies/allies.

8) Have fun :D .

Since Akavir is an uncharted area, and nobody really has any idea what it looks like, I'll need your help in creating a nice setting for our characters.

Here's mine:

Name: Bberkaan

Race: Dwemer

Gender: Male

Age: 143

Weapons: Dwemer shortsword

Appearance: Mid-height, long and curly beard/long and curly hair (as most male Dwemer possess), wears a high class Dwemer robe (the blue one), wears a yellow cap with a red gemstone in the middle

Backround: Bberkaan grew up in the Dwemer city of Arkngthand. He is, like the majority of his race, highly intelligent. While his father was a great mage, Bberkaan was never interested in the arts of combat. It was science which had stolen his heart. For days he would remain locked up in his quarters, studying. This only expanded his already great knowledge.
His reasons for being on the ship is unknown.

Personality: While Bberkaan is highly logical, he still hasn't hidden his creative side. He has always wished to keep peace. Bberkaan always tries to raise the disposition of those around him (not a Reference to the mini-game in the games). He is known to be very sarcastic...

Before I post, can our characters only be the passengers of the stranded ship?

So, for instance, if I wanted to play a Tsaesci that the crew encountered along the way, would that be allowed?

Name: LionsMane

Race: Chimer

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Weapons: Daedric Claymore and Longbow

Appearance: Tall for a lady. Long, almost ground length coarse black hair. Wears glass cuirass, greaves, pauldrons and gauntlets, and a short white robe. She also has a shiny, white ring around her pointer finger. Has large, undilating pupils, and silvery grey eyes.

Backround: LionsMane came from a little known part of Summerset Isle. From a very early age she trained with her uncle Salyther in stealthy magic and the arts of heavy melee and marksmanship. She sports a mysterious ring around her finger and denies all attempts to explain its meaning.

Personality: LionsMane is mysteriously silent to most questions. She occasionally breaks into a soft smile at a joke, but she mostly seeks solitude. Occasionally, LionsMane will break into a strange trance with her eyes closed and fingers tightly gripped around her ring.

Meh, I'll just go with a Dwemer.

Name:
Drathan Drougglak

Race: Dwemer

Gender: Male

Age: 56

Weapons: Dwemer Short Sword, Illusion and Destruction Magick, he prefers not to be seen when he attacks...

Appearance: Drathan, as all Dwemer of his age, only appears to be in his late twenties.
He is approximately 5' 9", with long red hair, a full beard, and often goes birthday suit naked in the rain.
But when his companions are fortunate, he wears a simple Netch Leather outfit, which he
has died bright red to "make him more stealth". He also likes shiny trinkets or long flowy things.

Background: Drathan was born on the island of Vvardenfell, in the great Dwemer city under Red Mountain.
Shortly after birth his mother was slain by a follower of Mehrunes Dagon, and left him for dead outside the city.
Lord Sheogorath took pity upon him, and took him in as his own. Because of his demented and manic surrogate
parenting, Sheograth raised Drathan to be a perfect basket case. Sheogorath, needless to say, was extremely proud.
This makes Drathan the perfect person to survive behind enemy lines, and cause extreme amounts of unjust cruelty
and painful laughs among your foes.

Personality: Drathan is a raving lunatic, why did you allow him to come with you? Coincidence? I think not.
But anyways, people have always liked Drathan because hes a riot at parties.
In fact, he views life as a party and everyone's invited. But hes not above "kicking" someone
out of the party for a good laugh. Generally though, if you sign a contract with him, he won't try to kill you,
and he'll defend you until either of you dies.

He also has a huge propensity to light everything on fire. He likes fire. I like fire. Do you like fire?

Sorry for the double post, but I have one question...
Wouldn't this RP take place DURING one of the Akaviri invasions of Tamriel?

Ahem... THIS SPELL CHECK IS DELICIOUS! YOU MUST TRY IT!
And correct grammar goes a LONG way.
Also, try adding some more detail to your character,
try to distinguish him from most Morrowind NPC's.

I'm not trying to be offensive, but you need to try harder when you post.
Also, you didn't add enough verses in the right order to parody

Geez, Robot! You're an error hunter  ! Anyway, we've got four characters so I guess we can begin. But to any others who still want to join, you still can!!!
For all of you Dwemer characters, if you are speaking Dwemeris, put your words in the middle of two <> symbols. For example, if my character were to say “Hello.” in Dwemeris, I’d put “<Hello.>”

With that covered, I guess I’ll start.

Bberkaan was buried in the sands of the beach. He slowly lifted his aching head, receiving flashbacks of the storm. His Dwemer shortsword had been sheathed into the ground. He slowly reached his hand out in grab it. Taking hold of his weapon, he sat up, brushing incredible amounts of sand off of his beard and robe. He sheathed his weapon, and whirled his head around to find the giant metal ship turned on its side with numerous Chimer and Dwemer laying down at the bottom, most of them face-planted the sand. “<By Dumac!>” he said under his breath.

In the distance, on the rocky ridge just past the beach, a lone Mer stands.
He had jumped ship about a mile offshore, seemingly a fit of madness,
and had set up a camp in what could now be seen as instinctual brilliance.
The Red haired lunatic, in a bright red set of leather armor with an orange cape,
noticing that some of his comrades have finally reclaimed consciousness,
descends the ridge with a huge grin on his face.

He spoke in Velothi, "Ah, comrades, you have defeated death I see!"
Drathan helped Bberkaan to his feet.
"I must ask that you sign this contract with me, a death pact of sorts,
so that our continued survival is not contested from within the ranks of
our party. Seeing as you are the senior surviving officer of the ship Bberkaan,
it would be prudent that you sign first."
Drathan removed a journal from his bright orange cloak,
and thrust it in Bberkaan's face.
The journal was immediately followed by a pen made from a Cliffracer's tail.

The Contract

All those who have signed this contract affirm that they plan
to work in equal accordance for the good of the party,
that they will defend each other unto death,
that they will not bring harm to another,
and they will look the other way when Drathan Drougglak
does something amoral to any of the native inhabitants of this land.

Bberkaan was overwhelmed. “Hold it, sir!” he ordered, pushing the journal aside. A mad Dwemer?, he thought, What a shame. “We don’t even know if half of these people are living or dead! So don’t be shoving your little ‘death pact’ in my face when we barely even know each other.”

The old man pushed Drathan aside and began walking in the direction of the ship.

A smile spreads across Drathan's face as Bberkaan walks back to the ship.
Under his breath the young Dwemer mutters, (too low for Bberkaan to hear)
"That's fine, I can live with your blood on my hands...
The contract was more for you than me..."

He goes to the camp he has set up and stokes the fire.
Drathan decides he will give his comrades a week to sign the contract,
and then they will be dealt with if they do not.
He also amends the said contract to be more advantageous to him.

(And "Native Inhabitants" denotes the Akaviri by the way...)

I'm going to wait until Ms. Tear replies before I continue.
Until then, I'm at the camp.
