Linanden sighed and looked around for the source of the arrow.

From behind the very tree that the arrow had just struck, a pair of elves emerged, bows mere inches away from Inzi's face. At this, there was movement all around the party, as the other elves - apparently hiding in plain sight - made themselves visible. One of them strode forwards, his bow hanging lazily at his side. "I am the warden of these forests. I hope you will not feel offended, were I to ask what a such a motley band of rogues is doing on our doorstep." His icy blue eyes seemed to see into each of them, as he scanned their faces. Finally, they came to a rest on Inzi. "Particularly you, southerner."

Linanden stared as his brethern emerged from the trees, they were better than he expected.

"We fight the same enemy, elf." Inzi replied coldly. "We were with a band of Rohirrim gathered to battle the Uruks of Isengard, but we were overrun. We came to the nearest place that we knew was devoid of their filth."

The elf smiled and raised an eyebrow. "Or maybe you're a group of arrogant bandits trying to construct a story on the spot. I've heard no tell of orcs in these parts, much less Uruk-Hai."

Inzi laughed hollowly. "Then perhaps the reputation of the Elves of Lorien is undeserved. The battle happened mpre-or-less on your doorstep."

"I'm not a bandit!" shouted Filbo, indignantly. "Too much work and only one breakfast! Terrible business!"
