Just as the Chosen were about to head out, one of Singer's companions spotted Mario. It was Amos, the huge Redguard warrior.

"Who is this? A trespasser, an Imperial... Marukhati spy, perhaps?" He bellowed and grabbed Mario's wrist in an iron grip.

"If Elves are being killed universally, does not this mean that the Orismer are equally a target of the Marukhati? Or are they as uneducated as they are barbaric?" Aramith wondered aloud.

"You should not abide by such ignorant stereotypes," Elyntine said to Aramith. "I have known many intelligent and compassionate Orcs in my time." She paused contemplatively. "And there is something to be said for the loyal and hard-working attitude that they often approach life with."

"Not too much to be said for their hygiene, though," Irri added offhandedly. "Smelly folk. But loyal. Honourable..." Her voice trailed off.

Spoiler:
I realised yesterday that I spelled my character's name wrong when I submitted my sheet. The actual name is Kah'jiirhed. But oh well, since everyone's used to it now.

Kah'jihreed got up from his rock and put his book away. Without saying a word or looking at anyone, he went to his stead and clumsily mounted it. He waited for some sort of signal to start moving.

TSO: To keep everyone's perfect canon reality intact, it can either be Savos Aren, pre-Dovahkiin, or Faralda, post-Dovahkiin disappearance.

Amos squeezed Mario's wrist even tighter. "This thief deserves a thief's death."

Sebastien turned to the field where the horses waited, but stopped mid way, catching sight of Amos and the man accused of thievery before. He eyed him for a moment as he contemplated the man's poor luck - and smirked to himself at the thought of that, luck - then glanced toward Malatar, not yet ready to approach the Ayleid, as the Breton was still sore over his blunder with the Ayleid lady the night before. "Perhaps," he called calmly to Malatar, gesturing toward Mario, "you might wish for the Redguard to respect your wishes to spare that unfortunate soul. Having to spend time with our lot may be a fate worse than death, should the destination not be the same." And it very well may be, he thought to himself.

"A fate worse than death! Probably." Irri agreed. "Let him pay his penance in service! Perhaps he can gain a shred of dignity while he's at it!" She said, smiling wildly.

"At least until we find a nice waterfall. I miss Bard's Leap... Nice in the summer..." Siaenach chimed in.

No problems

"But the question still stands, whether you have interpreted it correctly or not," Aramith said, trying not to voice his annoyance, "Do the Marukhati perceive the Orismer as Mer? It wouldn't surprise me if they did not, from all I hear these Marukhati are nothing but trouble-makers, ignorant and unworthy. Of course they seek to remove the influence of Mer, they fear us, no more, no less."

"Fear the mer? Then they're even stupider than they already sound. Elves are sissies," Sianach remarked.

"Nonetheless, let's not let that stop ourselves from helping each other out," Aramith said, "there is a greater enemy upon us. Who knows, maybe when they've finished with true Mer the Marukhati might seek to spread the power of Men further. Perhaps they'll kill of the Manmer and Orismer then? Maybe the beasts? Perhaps the Nords will increase their efforts against your own people in The Reach?"

"Hardly possible. If I enter Skyrim wearing this, I'll be put down for insurrection. Can't be any worse. But chill out. Already said I'd help..." Siaenach said, casually leaning against one of the horses.

"Which doesn't change the facts," Aramith said. Then, "I apologise if I have been curt, all those I ever held dear, they are at risk, their very lives are under threat, as is my own. Is it not then understandable that I might worry. I would not expect you to understand, but that is not your fault," he continued, then a new resolve filled him, "only the Marukhati are at fault here."

To be fair, you make your own reputation," Siaenach said. "Your Thalmor haven't exactly been out making friends."

"And so you judge all Altmer on the Thalmor," Aramith muttered, "bah! Perhaps it is not I who should be scolded for abiding by stereotypes. My aligned is to myself, and to combating this insurrection."
