Irri immediately stepped forward. "These... Gifts, from our Padomaic parents... Do they bind our souls to the Princes?"

Malatar remained in his lion form, laying on his side at the edge of the camp. He scanned the area closely, watching each and every move of each and every individual in the area.

"And how is it even possible? I mean, I'm not sure I like the prospect of my mother having been... How to put it... Raped, by Mehrunes Dagon! And I doubt dady or Uncle Mad would either," Siaenach mumbled.

Ask questions? How could he rattle off questions like the others? The hilarity was not lost on Sebastien, who could not pay Singer or his new companions attention upon noticing the newcomers' presence in the camp - and that beast! - even if they lingered on the opposite side. The exhaustion of a night without sleep, the severity of their mission - assuming it were real; how could he know? - and the tingling of strange magics in the air was too much for him. His temples throbbed. He sat down hard on the ground, not caring how undignified it was, and cradled his head in his hand, struggling to focus anew on his peers' questions to the mysterious Nord.

Selara's normally full lips thinned and her eyes narrowed at the unexpected announcement of the man who called himself Singer. He claimed to be the child of Azura herself? How could that be? And yet, as she studied him, there was an unanticipated rightness to it. Perhaps he was indeed what he claimed. Perhaps.

She glanced steadily from one of the gathered individuals to the next, evaluating each at her leisure. They were all so very different, and Selara was reminded once again that this Nirn was not precisely the one she remembered before the long sleep. When the others began to speak up, a sense of horror descended upon her. "Just a minute," she said, her normally silken voice flat with disbelief as she turned her flinty gaze once more upon the Nord who had spoken first. "You claim to be the son of Azura. Perhaps that is true; stranger things have happened upon Nirn. But these...these others," she continued, waving one slender hand almost dismissively towards the assembled group. "You would have me believe that all of them are also the blood of the gods? Did you bring us here in an attempt to dazzle us with fantastic tales of which even a child would be skeptical?" Her words, at first fairly quiet and self-possessed, grew steadily more heated as she spoke. "Mephala herself could scarce spin such a web of lies."

Soot-stained and travel-worn though Selara was, she stood before the Nord with all the pride of a queen, grey-violet eyes all but sparking with cool fury.

Still in lion form, Malatar slowly raised his head as Selara spoke...almost in a defensive position. If anyone reacted to her words in a violent way, he would strike without question. Nirn was not the same.

Spoiler:
I'm teasing the monkey- or lion. Whichever you prefer.

Feather-Tail, having dismounted only moments earlier, was a bit insulted by Selara's prejudice towards the assembled demigods.

"We're all well aware of the Ayleids' racism," He began crudely, "But perhaps you would consider keeping your premature judgements to yourself for the time being? We aren't quite excited to meet you either."

"Oh," Siaenach added. "and another one: How many races were there back when the Ayleids over there locked themselves up? And which ones? They might be a little out of date on their list of sapient races here."

Siaenach sighed audibly and rolled her eyes.

"Siaenach Whitebriar, Breton. Don't forget that."

"sorry, it's just I'm not good with names to faces or names.." Tireace said looking like a scolded child and twiddlin her fore fingers in a circle.

Spoiler:
I didn't particularly want to do this, but I don't see how I'll describe these adventurers otherwise. This is what your character immediately noted about Singer's adventurers.

Cynthia is a younger Altmer mage in green robes.

Alder is a large Orc smith.

Ely is a male Bosmer rogue in hunter's gear.

Amos is a Redguard warrior in traditional (Skyrim's) Redguard garb.

Lilith is a kind looking Breton Alchemist.

Engrid is an old Nord Witch in black robes.

"Questions, one at a time please." Singer said as Alec and an old Nord Witch known as Engrid separated Selara and Malatar from the rest, fearing confrontation.

"I'm afraid I truly don't have an answer to Irriwen's question. I assume that our parents would want to claim us as their own were we to become heroes in life. What that would involve, I don't know." He then addressed Siaenach. "Actually, Daedric Princes can take human forms, and most can actually appear either as a man or woman. It's likely that your mortal parent had you before they met your step parent."

It was Engrid who answered Selara. "Listen, young one. You may be thousands of years older than me but I've been awake much longer than you, so don't dare question my authority. Now that that is settled, I can tell you that when Singer says something, he means it."

Tireace tapped singer on his shoulder and said "you never awnsered my question. Where's the food? I'm hungry.."

Irri nodded thoughtfully. "As a hunter, my soul already belongs to Hircine, in all likelihood." She shrugged. "There are worse fates than the Hunting Grounds, I guess."
