Here is my final character.
Spoiler:
Username: AMM
Character Name: Jarl Bethany Harsh-Winter
Race: Nord
Gender: Female
Age: 43

Description: Jarl Bethany is widely considered to be the smartest woman in Skyrim. She is a natural politician, she is analytical and a natural tactician. She is fair with her people but has a general rule that she does not negotiate under hostile situations, and refuses to be threatened. Jarl Bethany is smaller than most Nord women. Her softer face doesn’t match her sharp, dark brown eyes. Bethany wears robes (Identical to Jarl Laila’s). She has long copper-colored hair tied back in a ponytail and wears a golden circlet.

Background: 23 years ago, the Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold lead a coup on Jarl Aden the Elder, killing him and becoming the new Jarl. Bethany gathered most of the disbanded guards under Jarl Aden and marched on Winterhold, taking the city and killing the Arch-Mage. Several nobles inside the court and mages in the College were executed for their crimes against Jarl Aden and Bethany took the position of Jarl by popular demand of anti-College citizens.

After the takeover Bethany personally chose the new Arch-Mage in the college, a less experienced Altmer wizard who was more of a puppet. He has matured more over the years and is more independent now. He is also one of the Jarl’s Thanes.

Other Information: Her Houscarl is a large and intimidating Nord knight called Donner. Her steward is her younger brother Thorold. Bethany has many Thanes, including Javiel, the Arch-Mage. Bethany’s ace in the hole is the fact that her houscarl is a werewolf. Because of this, Bethany is always very confident when she is with her Houscarl.

Colour: (for the purposes of the map) Light green

Edited character. Added family, and he is now four years older.

I don't want to scare you. You're right next to me and have a history of being violent. :P

I'm sure we can co-exist peacefully.

I'm not. :P

Guys, we need to create some tension in this RP. Faldor rocks, but there hasn't been a war yet because everyone wants to remain blameless and respectable.

No offense or anything, but I took being next to you into serious consideration when I tried to decide between Eastmarch and Winterhold. In the end Winterhold won.

I was thinking working out a grid for the map, there are roughly 30 settlements, and I was thinking of double that number of tiles.

Seeing as this is more of an experiment and practice for the possibility of doing a more mechanic driven "House Wars" and potential High Rock games in future, as such I'd be happy for your suggestions.

High Rock will be most interesting... In advance, I call Camlorn.
Nah, really though, with a slightly more functional (it doesn't have to be pretty!) map, and I think everything will be fine.

Should I do a character sheet now, or should I wait until a new map has been done, because I don't want to take a hold that will suddenly disappear or anything.

Edit: I wants to do a dunmer jarl, something along the lines, of his friend being the jarl before him, but his friend had no living relatives so the hold fell to the dunmer.

No this map will probably stay, and even if it changes, the cities and holds will not unless we go to a(n in my eyes inaccurate - thanks Bethesda for being so whimsical with Lore) 4th Era. That will depend on numbers I might add (8 is better suited for the 4th Era Map, which might see The Pale dropped). I've planned to do it up when I have a solid idea on numbers.

Anyhow, your application is a character sheet for a Jarl (he can be a Dunmer) and I'll sort out Holds, taking your preferences into consideration :P

The only thing I'm peeved about is Markarth.

Beth swapped Markath and Karthwasten in Skyrim for some reason. Even the 3rd Era maps show them in each others location, so I don't know why they did it. Maybe because Markath is easier to say than Karthwasten?

The thing I am worried about, in particular within my prospective hold, is the position of the River Karth. Dragon's Bridge's location, instead of having strategic importance as a vital river crossing, is in the middle of nowhere.

I wouldn't worry that much about it, because in terms of the game mechanisms I'm working on, based loosely on those of the game Diplomacy, but also on Risk, that shouldn't be a huge element that might cost you. However, I can see your point, particularly from an RPing standpoint in terms of the strategy element. I've got some topography maps I'll look at.

In the new year, hopefully when we get two more players, otherwise I'll find a way to divide up the remaining holds in some way or another, or redraw the boundaries. I need time to fiddle with the map and so on too :P

I've added a bit of additional information to my sheet.

About what will be the approximate manpower of a Hold?

Probably not too much. It would be like the amount of people in each American state.

Thought. My ever devious mind needs to know if we can use spies. Possibly even assassins?
