On reddits /r/Daggerfall i noticed a user unable to download the DaggerfallSetup.
i went to the uesp page to get a link for him and got a 404 on both of them. On the WiWiki site (which i had to look for since the links are different now the link to the setup) for Daggerfall and Arena, the setup versions provided by Ancestral Ghost just give me a 404. All the old links to the WiWiki had to be changed a little bit to work. I tried to figure out how to get the downloads to work without a 404, but it seems like i cannot access them as all links even on the WiWiki are 404 page not found.

Anyone able to help here?

I dont speak french, so i havent tried asking on their forums.

And i left a message for Ancestral Ghost on his talk page.

I have however, updated the links for both Setup versions on the file sections for each game on UESP, but their downloads still dont work on WiWiki as of the time i edited this post

http://www.uesp.net/file.shtml?dagger/files/dag213.exe appears to work. The link from the current version of UESP (the Wiwi etc stuff) only gives me a 404 too.

the setup version is better since it installs and configures it for you automatically, and installs the good patches, fixes, comp usa patch, and some good mods/fixes that add in removed or bugged content that didnt work before. Plus it comes with eyes of argonia so its worth it. (And its frequently updated and added to)

Imho its the version i recomend to people as the anthology version and the free version seem like a hassle to get running.

Yeah, it's a real shame if it's gone down permanently. I thought I had a backup somewhere but I can't find it currently. I'll definitely see about getting a UESP mirror up and running if the situation persists.

I doubt it will, as that is a pretty big site and they are still doing the French translation of Daggerfall. And since; to my knowledge, Ancestral Ghost owns that site I really doubt it's going to be 404 forever.

I will probably upload my installed version, which I have slightly tweaked for better performance. And I'll set it up for use if they just drop it on their C drive. It's basically just the same as the setup version. Ill post it here or somwthing so i can get it approved first. Dont wanna get banned ya know.

So that is why all of the mods and files from this site are gone, but the Forum is still up. It probably will be a long time before it is fixed. But I bet ancestral ghosts will come around sometime either today or tomorrow and we upload the arena setup and Daggerfall setup versions...

No it would still be a good idea to ready a mirror, as long as it is the version from October 28th of last year. Aka version 2.11.0 of daggerfallsetup. As thats the newest and also since some ppl dont want all the mods as they want to use daggerfall unity or DaggerXL

I think I have on a hard drive or flash drive back up, the prior version 2.03.0. But im really unsure of that.

its also configured to run in any directory, i figured out how to set C as the root folder that daggerfall is in, so you dont have to touch a thing. just run DOSBOX.exe and your good to go!
